HBD Dallas! by Vince Zywczak (2023). “Dallas had a birthday, I had a fisheye. Music: Driver - her love.
We’ll call this the “season finale”. I think that’s a little goofy, but it makes since because I’m basically going to take a seasonal break until summers over. Mick Casals is moving to Colorado and he was going to have his last session in Texas in Dallas. So me and a few others decided to make the drive from Austin to Dallas to come bid him a farewell and also skate amazing Dallas spots. Fact: Dallas has the best spots in Texas.
Massive shoutout to John Sullivan for being our tour guide and also being better than everyone at skating. Thanks John. I could spend a good amount of time writing about the day, all of the spots, describing each minor detail that I think makes the day interesting but… It’s late. My brain feels burnt. So I want to use the rest of my dwindling motivation to say THANK YOU to everyone that has watched, commented and supported Jumbo. I never thought this project would have reached so many people. […] - Cody Sanders. Support Jumbo and get some goodies on Oak City.
Wes Phelan, a Dallas local, killing it in the streets. Additional footage by John Sullivan. Graphics by Wes Phelan. “I want to express deep gratitude for my good friend, my dude, Gino Gotelli, for being so dedicated to this project and for being patient as I trudged through the process for, to get this edit to a place we could call finished”.
“I’d also like to thank the following people for being there in the streets, cheering me on while I fought for some of these clips: Grahm Robinson, Chad Hornish, Dillon Anderson, John Sullivan, Aarin Gates Sullivan, Erik McEwen, Matt Hughart, Eric Halliman, Steven Diomampo, Danny Ross, Troy Malone, Kristian Payne, Brady Johnston and anyone else who gave their input along the way”. - Wes Phelan.
“Plano (Dallas, Texas) is where it all officially started for me. 16 years ago, I was 13 years old and turned pro winning the ASA Amateur World championship at Eisenberg Skatepark. This was my first trip ever to America”.
“A couple of months ago, my brother Fritz Peitzner knew i was heading to South America for the World Championship, so he asked me if i would join his competition: Carriers Open named after his skateshop. […] We also filmed this street section all around the Dallas City area for 7 days straight”. - Julien Cudot.

I just spent a week in Dallas with Fritz Peitzner and what started out as work trip turned into one of the best skate trips I’ve had. Great vibes and awesome sessions fueled this into a really fun time. - Ryan Buck Strauss.
Rounding out 2017 is Jiovanni Brown from Dallas Tx. He’s the most talented rollerblader in our scene that you’ve probably never heard about.
We took it upon ourselves to flip the script and bring his skating to light. It has been a good year. Expect to see more of Jiovanni in 2018! Filmed and edited by: Troy Maimone, additional filming by Jason Reyna.
Fritz Peitzner & Troy Maimone went for a Christmas session at a new skatepark in Dallas, Texas.
What to say about Jimmy Johnson? Jimmy is a Dallas/ Fort Worth local and one of the nicest guys to blade with.
The dude is good vibes. He always seems to surprise us with some trick we weren’t expecting. It’s been a pleasure to work on this piece. Look for more out on the horizon. - Troy Maimone.
