UFS Aggressive Ice Skates and Ice skatepark

UFS Aggressive Ice Skates

Here are some Working Aluminum Ice Ramps Frame Prototypes.

In early May, 2006, Dale sent the design prototypes to a machine shop. This allowed us to have quick-and-easy working prototype of the Ice Ramp Frame. While the final version will consist of a plastic frame, the working prototype uses an aluminum frame.

Dale mounted the UFS compatible ice ramp frames on Razors Dre Powell Skates. On May 9th, 2006, Dale took the skates to a local ice rink and successfully skated the first Ice Ramp skates.

  4. toby Says:

surely a skatepark mad eof ice wud be shite rather than your yearly refurb ud have to sor tout thsoe curves daily also imagine bailing hard rather than bouncing around an the odd splinter u’d get iceburns an rip yourself to shit also skating when its bloody cold aint all tht why go to a park an freeze i can only see this as a gd idea if u live in a very snowwy icey part of canada alaska north pole etc an eevn then it’d have to be custom price wis eit is surely cheape rto make a wooden or metal park. however putting a p rail in the middle of an icerik wud b kwl an if u work out cess slides right XD

  5. Ales Says:

“”"Shit, don’t grab your tricks!!! “”" ———— LOL

    That looks crazy

  6. dean Says:

point less maswell buy skates and skate a park

  7. nice Says:

Not gonna work and its too cold and its like…not good for rollerblading culture.
    Ice skate is not rollerblade.
costs more to keep sucha park running and also like it really hurts to go fast and fall to ice and e.g but or hand down to make the speed down…(i know we have snow ice winters)
It is dangerous look at the skates, especially if they sharpen u can really like hurt youreself whit them.
Stick to rollerblading or start ice skating but not mixure its same as u would start skiing or snowboarding…

  8. Shimanator Says:

i would buy such frames, even if icepark won’t ever exist it’s nice to have good skates to use when you go ice skating with your friends

  9. Oli B Says:

surely someone would lose a finger at each session, haha…and then damn, those falls would kill!! big drop onto freezing ice, hand slips out to face plant…

red faces and chopped off fingers chapped lips…sounds awesome…

im sure its been thought out though, and there is fake ice etc…

just i guess why ice skate if you can rollerblade…

  10. oldman Says:

First I don’t think there will be a icepark like this, too expensive. But the idea is nice, I played Ice Hockey when I was younger and we did some jumps and grinds with our regular hockey ice skates. Only problem was that only topsides or makios were possible (obviously). We grinded the goal for example and such grinds would be much easier with this skates!

Yes Ice is hard, but you slide when you fall, so you don’t rip your skin like on concrete! BTW I had some bad cutts in the fingers while playing ice hockey, but I never lost a finger so I don’t see much fingers laying around after a session of ice ramp skating.

  11. remz101 Says:

yea people would fosho get fucked the hell up! danm those blades would hurt

  12. rem-z Says:

haha;p imajen some one falles from the half pip :P?!?!?!?

  13. p2roll4life Says:

  14. :) Says:

    ice skatepark?? thats very dangerous….

  15. Brian Says:

quite possably the dumbest idea ive ever heard of.

  16. Angelo ferrer Says:

hahaha alot of u guys are hating on this aswell IF UR NOT MAN ENOUGH FOR THE NEW CHALLANGE THEN TOO BAD IM TESTING THOSE OUT ONTOP OF A CAR AND WEARING THEM INSIDE PEOPLES HOUSE’S

  17. satan Says:

that’s insane and probably the most stupidly dangerous thing ever created.

  18. dan Says:

nah man i disagree with it in the aspect that if it did hurt rollerblading. but if it doesnt then ita all good.

  19. remz Says:

“why bother doin that! U mad limited with that. u can`t grind and do switch ups or go all out !”

i doubt rollerbladers thought they could do switch ups and insane drop rails when they first started. and i really don’t see how this is bad for the rollerblading industry as some people have claimed.

if anything, i would say it’s a huge plus. it’s another branch of the sport with a lot of potential, and UFS frames could lead a lot of ice skaters to try rollerblade boots with ice skate frames putting more money into rollerblading. and add to this the increased exposure rollerblading would get from this.

meh whatever. i’d give it a try for sure, and probably lose body parts in the process…

  20. tibo Says:

    that must hurt

  21. Corey McCumber Says:

I can see sooooo many injuries coming from this….Its going to be awesome…

  22. ian Says:

i thought of this so many years ago…

  23. lukeH Says:

    That looks so bloody hard!
Ian you might hav thort of it but you diddnt make the frames mate

  24. Anton Says:

have thougt about this a long time now…….it wood work really well but you don’t wanna skate when it’s cold

  25. hobo Says:

they shud make normal ice skates into aggressive ice skates, cuz ppl can do flat 1440s in those!!!! its fxcking sic!!!! its a good idea tho, ive thort about it myself. flat 1440s tho, u cant dis!

  26. DarthRoller Says:

    Hmmmm…..

Burning my ass every time I fall, royales being incredibly dodgy, 3660 spins over ice spines of death……

Ramps that need worked on almost all day…..

Novel idea, but no thanks. I’ll stick to ledges, rails gaps and skateparks.

  27. jumo Says:

Omg ,, shit , the strett skating is goinig to be very famous …

  28. lucilor Says:

    it looks awesome to me…

  29. razorrider3 Says:

  31. razorrider3 Says:

that’s just too far rollerblading has a too many problems today

  32. Chris Says:

cool. but would never work out…

  33. mike Says:

Sure will be nice to fall on ice, if you slip up on your tricks your screwed..Rollerblading already has enough image issues as it is, we really don’t need iceblades…

  34. dizzy Says:

haha that park would be so hard to skate. fuck that. haha

  35. alex Says:

what the hell !! a skate park in ice come on we must spend the money to do real good skatepark in wood that everybody can skate with regular skate!!!

  36. kevin p Says:

Maybe now they will make Rec and Hockey frames UFS so all you need to do is buy the right frames and you can do anything, aggressive, figure skate, play hockey (ice, street) or figure skate.

  37. Ru_Stockwell Says:

I can see sooooo many injuries coming from this….Its going to be awesome…
    AGREE

  38. killgore Says:

i think its a good idea…maybe the whole ramps and what not wont be the coolest..but it will introduce skating to 10000000000000 new people who ice skate and play hockey EVERYDAY. they will want to try it…amazed at the tricks on ice skates. then want to try rollerblading hopefully.

its a good intro into the sport….and a probley fun but different experience to ice skate on ice ramps. i dunno im interested in tryinit. shit woudl HURT tho. to fall

  39. iPog Says:

finally! i’ve always wanted to try aggressive ice skating but that was just dreams then. but its finally been made :D

  40. B Says:

if that happens, there’ll be some gruesome injuries! haha

  41. michael Says:

    that’s so fucking pimp!!!!!

  42. Justin Says:

Oh my…think of the injuries, I always remember going ice skating and trying to bust some spins on the ice, bailing and then getting KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT…itd be cool if it was just a UFS ice blade but as far as an “Ice Park” or having grooves to be able to “grind” is just insane.

  43. tomdom Says:

one wrong stack and u cut your own head off…

  44. MIG 25►↑3-♪ Says:

    wow nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  45. Taylor C Says:

stupidest idea ever, youll slice your own fingers off or some body part of yours or someone elses. and ice is way harder than concrete. and youll slide on everythin. youll try and just slip down a ramp trying to get up. retarted idea.

  46. caprilo Says:

very neat! but man if you fall you don;t think you might cut yourself with the blade. you hit a hard mut or somthing and you see your fingers on the other side of the park, ouch! but heck if i saw a ice park i’d try it out!

  47. Claudio Geasy Says:

nossa mano do céu!

    true, true

  49. Dale Campbell Says:

As far as slipping around and not getting up the ramp goes, well you just need sharp edges and a really mellow transition esp for the prototype. Oh and in addition to inline skating I grew up in the ice rink pretty much, and I never saw any fingers cut or chopped off, funny thought though. as far as dangerous goes some but not as much as you might think. It will not be like the time you went ice skating in rentals that were dull and did not give your ankle support or anything like that. Beside I remember VG13 when Charles Dunkle was laying there in convulsions from head trama but He went on to still skate still with no helmet. I think for decent skaters it will be fine.

  50. Derek Says:

OMG, I cant believe you guys are falling for this park shit… its pretty obvious that its a fake… but the frame wont work i guess… metal never was good to slide…maybe plastic frame walls?

  51. Dale Campbell Says:

    Derek,

If you have looked at my site then you should know I am the creator of this project.

    1. I have all the materials to build a prototype ramp in storage.

    2. I have obtained all the needed patents to protect my idea through the US Patent office.

    3. I also have paid for the Ice Mat system from CALMAC http://www.calmac.com (Its the refrigeration line system that goes under the ice)

The only thing needed is a building and the Liquid chiller unit itself which a company called heatcraft is working on for us. This is the same type components that are used in making bobsled runs and ice rinks. Why are some people having such a hard time believing this?

  52. Dale Campbell Says:

Oh, also the metal frame is only a prototype we had built for testing, the real version will not be metal.

  53. Kate Says:

take it from an ice-hockey skaters point of view… if you just take the time to get used to it, sharpen your blades, and learn how to stop anything is possible on the ice.. i thought i was never gonna land some of my jumps but i just kept at it, even hurt my sholder more than a couple of times but i got it.. i know people who can go six feet in the air from FLAT ICE.. trust me, anything it possible

  54. maTT Says:

finally someone other than me had that crazy idea

finally someone other than me had that crazy idea

i think everyone here had that idea at some point but it does not improve rollerblading at all…

  57. Justin Says:

The guy on http://www.xtremeiceskating.com has a video of him doing a rail off of an ice quarter pipe. The guy is the biggest douchebag i’ve ever seen, but he has h-blocks on his skates. yours look much better designed, and the UFS is cool, but he appears to have beat you to the punch.

  59. soda Says:

i think its a good idea in the fact that, if you wanted to switch up to ice in the winter, all you would have to do is switch the blades and keep the same boot you are comfortable with. i think its a decent idea for people who live in icy areas or get all four seasons.

  60. Joey Ca$tro Says:

I don’t think I’d be good at it but I have thought about the possibility of aggressive Ice skating. i think its a great idea and you guys are all joking it….psh haters. lol doing grabs would be……pretty stupid to do though lol

  61. Oliver Says:

    great!

but where do I buy them!!!????

  62. wadawada Says:

you suck big big biig big big big i=big big big PENIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  63. Edzinsh Says:

I just want those skates! where i live(in Latvia) i have that one ice rink with something ramp-like on sides and i do some tricks there with my hockey skates, but having those skates would make it litle bit better. and for thouse, who say somethin about injuries and cut off fingers i can say i have been doing grabs for 3 years with ice skates and there is not a chance that i’ll cut my finger off. and falling on ice is much better than on asphalt or concrete. i think its a great idea, so go on!
