NYC Blading Scene Featured on Dutch TV

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

3 op Reis

3 op Reis (translated ‘Channel 3 Travels’) is a series created by a team of passionate travelers, produced by Dutch national broadcaster BNN.

They’ve just successfully finished three seasons of 27 episodes each, with good reviews and ratings (around 700.000 — 800.000 viewers on a weekly basis).

3 op Reis is a mixture of the experiences and adventures of the presenters, beautiful shots of the destinations, involvement with the local people and practical information about the destination. It is the leading (and at the moment the only) travel program at Dutch television. – Leslie Borger.

September 11th 2010 on a Saturday afternoon a film crew from the Netherlandic show, 3 op Reis, filmed local NYC skaters at the Wall Street area in Manhattan, NY for their Dutch worldwide travel show.

The skaters were to be featured in their NYC segment. This video is an edited version of the show just showcasing their coverage of the New York City rollerblading scene. The film crew was inspired to showcase our scene by a IRollNY article written by Aulistar Mark.

One Day NY: The Beats + Alex Ryerson Edit

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

As of lately, I’ve been on a overall mission to get rid of all my footage before the summer starts. The following clips are a mixture of very recent material or footage that has been shot within the past three years.

We started ODNY really small with just a handful of local skaters in Queens, NY and have had the pleasure of expanding the crew and friends beyond the scope of our own city.

While we continue to grow in very tiny increments, this edit is for everyone who has supported us from day one.

If we’ve filmed with you before and have yet to see any of your footage in our edits, don’t worry you shall see your stuff soon. We have much bigger plans in stored for the summer like a new more user friendly site and possibly our first very own video production. Stay tuned.

Cool’n out in NY: Alex Ryerson

Alex Ryerson from Brooklyn, NY keeps the clips rolling w/ more previews. The following was filmed over a two day weekend featuring spots in both Brooklyn and Queens.

One Day NY

Close friend of mine Carlos Montenegro has been down w/ the movement since day one and out of everyone I’ve dealt with, he has been the most patient and motivated when it comes to building and gathering material.

Although the edit may or may not do him justice, anyone who has seen homie skate in person undoubtedly knows what he’s capable of. More to come soon. Hope you enjoy.

This Film is featuring Ramelle Knight, Rafael Herrera, Tim Franken, Dan Breuer, Jose Henriquez and Trevor Johnson.

During the late production of this film Trevor Johnson broke his knee filming for Fitted. We wish him a speedy and healthy recovery.

My name is Joseph Perez, I have 3 kids, a wife and a deadend job and a real passion for Rollerblading. I’ve been involved with the NYC scene for about 7 years now and I don’t think I can stop.

I created the featured film “Fitted” in order to show how everyone even outside of rollerblading uses this trend of fashionable headwear to represent their style of character and where they come from. I’m not a fan of baseball but for some reason when my baseball team is winning I feel proud to be living in the town that they play for. Rollerbladers share this unity for where they come from by wearing a Fitted. I have chosen 6 of some of the most talented Rollerbladers from New York to Baltimore to New Jersey to represent Fitted.

I dream of continuing my travels to other locations/states in order to help grow a variety of footage for the video. I kindly ask you guys and everyone around the world that views this trailer, please help fund our project in order for us to release this entertaining film we call “Fitted”. Check the details here at our link on kickstarter.com for fundraising options. We appreciate your time and hope that you would want to take part.

Friday, October 15th, 2010

Small tribute edit to the late Brian Scott Jr, killed in error on Oct 12th, 2009 by a cowards bullet. Born on Sept 12, 1991, Brian was 18 years and 1 month old.

This edit is a snippet of the Brian we knew within the skate community and a perspective on where Brian’s talent and skill would’ve taken him… UP! Roll in PEACE.
