Cameron Card: Teach Them Well Profile (2006)
It’s the beginning of 2006 and I’ve now stacked up over fifty clips. I attempted offering them to Jon Julio in the final stages of editing for his new video “We Are Valo”, he respectively declined because of timing and asked for a few of the clips for the montage.
I really had no idea what to do with all these clips. I ended up talking with one of my long time friends Stuart Campbell about what I should do. He told me he’d be juiced to edit a section with all the clips. I sent them off and what happened next was where fate took over. [...] Full Article.

Quoting Cameron Card:
From The Vault. Erik Bill had asked me to start filming for a part in his future release he was calling Dayshapes.
I immediately jumped on the opportunity to have a part in another project with the NDN crew. This is just a few clips from the beginning of my adventure filming for dayshapes.
Visit Welovetoroll.com & Thendn.blogspot.com ; the Dayshapes DVD is available for 10$ here.

quoting Cameron Card:
Here is an edit of my perspective from some of the Utah rollerbladers / my friends. I’m defiantly going to miss the blade scene we have here in Utah.
I’ll be moving to State College, Pennsylvania in December and can’t wait to start my family out there! (lucky for me, I’m right next to Woodward, PA)
Featuring Nicholas Swan, Mike Opalek, Tad Tregeagle, Mikal Moore, Mikal’s Friend, Justin Mousley, Cameron Card, Hazen Bell & Jeff Stanger.
Song: Joe Purdy – White Picket Fence.

quoting Cameron Card:
We can all relate to the words “i just love to roll,” but we want to see how and why YOU can relate.

Cameron Card is heading home after spending way too much time in ICU. He hit his face hard enough on concrete to crack bone from his eye socket to the bottom of his cheek.
Spectating homies say that if he wouldn’t have been wearing his helmet it would’ve been a whole lot worse. There’s a clip of it… So unfortunately you’ll be seeing it sometime. :(
Cameron Card, Facebook Update:
Wow!! FB alone with a ton of support. Update: I’m home.. Doing fine. Doctors say I look good on paper. I’m going to be seeing two more doctors and then we’ll go from there.
Might need surgery on the cheek bone… And, talking to a brain doctor. Just to make sure the gears are turning. Thanks for all the support!!

Dayshapes Leftovers: Cameron Card, Nicholas Swan & Erik Bill

Song: Sad Lovers & Giants – Seven Kinds of Sin.

1. Beyond deciding to wear a helmet following your head injury, have you also modified your style of skating since the injury? If so, how would you describe the change?
I put a lot more thought into my rollerblading now.
2. The process of rehabilitation after an injury is just as much psychological as physiological. How would you describe the highs and lows of coming back after a serious injury? Was this process much different for your head injury rehab than for previous injuries, how so?
Oh my! I’ve never had an injury that can even compare to my head injury. Usually it’s been “my body feels better, I’m ready to blade.” The physical part of my healing process was luckily deleted from my memory and there’s not much to talk about there, other then I heard it was a very rough road, not only for me but everyone around me.
The mental healing is what I’ve been dealing with since the injury. It’s been a very new and confusing ride I’ve been on.
After the injury, my mind was set on never blading again. Nine months of having that mind set was a very depressing time for me. I’ve never been as low as I was during that time.
My mom noticed I was missing something in my life and needed to change the way I thought. I don’t know the exact words she said but it went something like this, “Cameron you need rollerblading in your life, take what happened and learn from it.”
Since then I’ve figured out a few things I needed to change:
Never get frustrated with a trick, the moment I’m not enjoying the act of rollerblading is the moment of going against the reason I do it. If I have to hit something or bang my head to get juiced to do the trick I’m not calm enough to be as focused as I would like. Any doubt means I shouldn’t be trying the trick.
As long as I’m mentally capable of trying a trick then I know I’ve got it. I don’t push past the signs of getting hurt. I’m also able to stop trying a trick without worrying about it. Those are some of the way’s I’ve been able to mature from my injury. [...]

quoting Cameron Card:
Fortunately I’m getting married to the most wonderful girl I’ve ever met this August 7th. Unfortunately I haven’t had the time I usually have to go out and rollerblade.
Wedding planning is a whole new world for me. I had to skip July and barely found time to even put the edit together for June.
Ps: Lucky for me I have a whole month off for wedding adventures. I’ll be traveling to Vancouver, Canada & State College, PA!! Next month should be another fun filled edit!
Song: Macklemore – B-Boy.
