Sven Boekhorst: City Hopper, Trailer

City Hopper is a video project starring Sven Boekhorst. This project features a documentary part, City Hopper+, and a hardcore skatepart. All in the name of testing out the new SB pro model skate by Rollerblade.

The test started small but evolved into a big project with several stunts in different cities. Sven did stunts on highly recognizable locations like the Dam Square and the Red Light District in Amsterdam, the Erasmus bridge in Rotterdam, and at the PSV stadium in Eindhoven.

This project was filmed and edited by Remy Cadier and Axel Van Dijk. Music courtesy of Flash Grimey.

    fuck you!

and by the way, he set the whole project up by himself, it’s not like red bull flew him around in a helicopter or something.

so every young and more talented skater could do the same thing. there’s no need for anyone to make way.

I WILL FIND YOU, AND KILL.. I AM RIGHT AND YOU ARE WRONG.

  31. Michael Says:

We should be happy we have guys over 30 still skating. Because these who do, are absolute masters. Sven, Haffey, Rob G… many more.

It’s not about making space for younger talents – it’s about finding ones that will be worth replacement. Too many newbloods are afraid of big tricks. That’s why it’s Haffey jumping megaramp, and Sven grinding 3 meters high ledges that nobody beore did.

I hope Sven will skate for many more years. Kind of sad he didn’t receive pro-model when he was on top, bet it won’t sell too good right now, as rollerkids don’t know him and it’s quite expensive :/

  32. Remy Cadier Says:

I think the skate will do allright in Europe. And after the edit & documentary rollerkids might have gotten to know him. It wont be a standard edit. No normal tricks whatsoever. NO spin to win either. Back to the finesse of big hammers.

  33. Remy Cadier Says:

And he is not getting a skate because Rollerblade think they can make big bucks off it, it is more of a ‘respect’ thing.

  34. Michael Says:

I know. He deserves pro skate as much as other legends.

I’m super hyped for his pro-skate. I know it doesn’t have all bells and whistles that RG2 does, and have “handicap” in form o eco-plastic that cost more (so skate cost more than RG2, while it have cheaper liner and strap instead of buckle), but damn i want them. I’ve already seen samples and examined them (not my size sadly so i haven’t tried them), these rock, and “Silent Assasin” logo on back of the cuff is nice final touch. Troopers seem like very similar skate, but there are two reasons nobody should choose Trooper over SB:

    1) It’s Sven skates we are talking here about dammit! He is rider of the same caliber as Haffey, oldschool alive and kicking, and one of best vert (not many people can pull off double flatsipn) and park riders that excel on street too.

    2) Blank frame. Seriously, this is MAJOR step forward. Guys who already rock these are saying they are comparable to best frames out there.

New cuff and screws instead of rivets are nice too, but to be honest, ape with half brains should be able to cut old cuff and change rivets for screws in Troopers or other Solo models. I remember people saying that Hypes and Eras have non-replaceable cuffs and bitching about it. Retards.

Seriously, RB fixed Solos this year. Souls won’t crack anymore, frames are finally good or at least skateable (Troopers and NJ3 have frames made from new material!), standard liners have v-cut (it was silly that skates with v-cut come without liner with one…). Even “ski” buckle on RG2 is better. So if someone weren’t sure about trying them, 2012 is best time!
