These new skates look like they are based on the top of the range rollerblade fitness skates that are sold right now. I assume this means that the comfort level of the skate will be high. However the “widebody” soul is hideous.
Was there no way to make it look more ergonomic?
I like that they brought back the estilo name.
Does anyone know the relevance of the name though?

_first of all the new RB frame, 72mm outside and the possibility to make a rockering system to guarantee a big groove … _the low buckle !!! woah : it’s all i nee to glue my heel down, it’s nice and it’s like on free skates … but i think i will break !
_the weight : i’m sure these skates will be lighter than dts …
i’m not telling the skates are ok but new concepts are here ! instead of talking shit all the time just say what you dilike and why … that’s the only way to make improvements.

For some reason the frame seems to swamp the skate, making them all look like skates for little junior kids. I don’t hate the boot, I think with some creative thought and a better frame maybe these could look quite sick, I will save my verdict for when I have a pair in my hands :)

I wish people could stay a little optimistic about new things. At least wait to actually see them in person, or try them on, before you make your final judgements.
I thought the same thing about xsjados when they first came out, I still think they look like crap, but people can pull them off well. I think it’s the same scenario with these.
With Tom Hyser behind the design, I’m sure the performance of these is incredible. Can’t wait to try them.

velcro cuff, great idea,
anckle buckle, wouldnt a simple velcro strap suffice? looks easily damagable, hopesfully easy to replace…
soul plates seem like a great idea, wish they had a groove. make your own groove is just a hassle imo.
skate look light and looks like it skates well. but they could have put a bit more effort in the style.
everyone hated on the realms/legacy/aragons/xjsados when they first came out.

i remember when people were saying that the aragon 2s looked like shit. but now everyone likes them, they always looked pretty decent in my opinion.
you probably think im about to say the same thing will happen with these, and people will like them eventually… but im not. these are the ugliest skates ever made, congrats rb you have succeeded in making an uglier skate than roces. and look what happened to them. im disappointed because i was liking where rollerblade was going with the point 8s and dts, but these new skates are just terrible.

i might be wrong, but it seems as though rollerblade put aside all knowledge amassed and all the innovation and improvements skates have accumulated over the past decade and designed these. no royale groove (maybe its like nimh souls?), very exposed buckles, and tiny h-blocks? im sorry but i dont see the attraction. its as though rollerbade hired designers who never skated or thought of doing any research or innovation of their own.

Everyone should notice that the soul plate hangs down lower than the top of the frame. No other skate on the market has that feature (more than a couple mm at least).
This feature would not only accommodate the 72mm wheels, but the frame would have a lower grind profile making the skater bend less for topsides and royals - a more natural grind.
And also consider the fact that the new line are adapted fitness skates, meaning comfort was a priority and not an afterthought.
Now I’m not saying I support Rollerblades new direction, I just hope people won’t prematurely take their aesthetic judgements as truth.

Who knows, they may fit your feet really good… I know hardly any skates out today fit my feet good (i got abnormally wide, big feet)… that’s why I sport the ole’ rob thompson salomons (9.5 with size 10 original salo liners)…
Skates need to go back to making a different boot for each size… then a lot of problems about having to change out different liners and crap may be solved. I really find it annoying how I can’t just purchase a skate without having to change the liners up. Now, I sound like I’m complaining… but hey, you can’t blame someone for wanting a better product… it’s just human nature.

you guys may not remember but when first usd psirus images came out on the web everyone hated those, i see the same hapening to this…when psirus hit stores everyone loved those and the skated great..

I’ve skated every single make and model skate over the last 10 years. This skate does not come in Crayola colors. This skate does not have to. When you think you look so fly in the new color valo or razor skate and your friend is learning tricks way faster than you maybe you will consider. They don’t look bad in person, they are slim and fit well. They skate better than any skate ever. I will tell you why. The new RB takes everything that skaters loved about every kind of skate thought the years and put it into one ultra light high performance package. Rough grind groove… you didn’t notice that did you. maybe you don’t notice alot of things. Maybe you should enter a beauty contest for good looks because i wanna make rollerbladers go as big as motocross riders doing amazing shit incapable by other humans. BE A PART OF SOMETHING DON’T ALWAYS TRY TO BRING SOMETHING DOWN.
