I grew up skating in a time when if you didn’t grab that shit it didn’t count SIMPLE. Pro’s like Shima, Sagona etc are void because they actually make it look good. Yeh for sure, I totally agree that it’s a totally different kettle of fish flowskate. I’m not battling his skating at all. I’m just showing nyckid that I’m not some retard that can’t skate.
My opinion however is that people like Ramelle Knight shouldn’t be the ones representing our sport.
It’s clear that my opinions on grabbed tricks aren’t agreed with across the board, but thats what it is, an opinion, one that was sculpted by how rollerblading used to be, when I first started.

I read this chain of comments before I watched the edit and expected to agree with Henders about the grabs… Personally I always feel dirty when I dont grab, its just kind of lazy and often in my opinion can detract from the style and general image of the skating from a 3rd party perspective…
In this case I was not really bothered about the lack of grabs on the tricks, the tricks were extremely difficult and the general style was alot better than I expected it to be… I guess going in with a low expectations helped…
I would have rather seen cleaner single tricks – as I’ve just said I’m not saying that the tricks are not hard, nor am I saying that this guy cannot do the tricks I would like to see… but if I’m going to watch a little play box edit such as this I would rather see the skater show that they can do crazy hard tricks that are not based on switch ups… As far as I’m concerned I would have liked to see a nice True fish (grabbed) the whole way along the box, maybe some nice true souls etc… switch ups are all well and good but clean non dancing skating is nice to watch too…
And henders – dont feel bad I feel confident that the majority of monkeys on here cant do shit…

I was saying they both skate at a high level, I dont know who is better or if anyone can judge that. they both have improved in their skating alot and both receive alot of hate on rollernews. and I have seen lots of sections from them.

When i came to the park as kid, was everytime full of skateboarders, who hated on me and all rollers and also eachother. It was the rollers who goes down with sick tricks in some time, get this lames see whats the real shit. Smilin’ to their faces And never hated on them or eachother. Ian atkinson – agree with the demotion. regardless of how short the edit is, the tricks are not laced or completed, nor is there any style.
Michael Muehlemann – I checked out some edits of you. Nice solid fast tricks. Good rollerblading. I’m all about simple tricks done properly vs. tap dance switch ups.
Don’t get me wrong, im no rail killer but i can definatley hold myself when it comes to the ‘balls out’ tricks.

a good friend – ”his knee is still fucked up and still doing SHIT most of you can’t do.” SHIT being the main word! It’s not about him doing TRICKS others cannot do, it’s all about him doing any tricks well! Which he rarely does.
The most mad trick I can remember of Knight is him doing a true fish in massive black joggers, white remz and a red tee on a black steep rail, with no grab. He did not look in control or styled. Granted, props, as that is very hard, but it does not cut ‘pro’ status as he could he practised it and made it look better, therefore, no finesse.
Lets just say good friend if we judged the same competition we would come out with different placements.

fair enough ramelle is not exactly the most natural rollerblader but he does put a fair shift in.
i can do a backslide grabbed and non grabbed and i prefer non grabbed if im going for a long distance, its only easy to grab a backslide if your doing it like an emo on a rail less than 20 stairs.
