He also gives up the story behind Xsjado, and the brand’s sale to Powerslide. The audio may be wonky, but the knowledge Dustin drops deserves to be heard.

That´s our raped industry man… we got fucked a long time ago, and great people that used to make this sport look worth and noble are like he is now…
But i think in most part its our falt… when dustin used to be the shit, rolling had style, culture, people used to cherish for every trick…
These days people think rolling is about competition and who is the best skater or best company, its just bullshit… the sport level has evolved incredibly and its paying its dues but we need to work on our culture and ideals, before more great companies and people like dustin have to work for mc donnalds to make a living. PEACE

Dustin Latimer is the king of rolling in my eyes. That guy has been the illest since day one. His style is non-comparable to anyone out their on the streets. Its exciting to see DL making this edit for NIHM. Super legit! :)
DL if you ever get the chance to read this, I think everyone will agree with me that we all want to see another edit of you skating the NIHM boot a week or so after you made this edit. I really would like to see what the soul plate and backslide look like after being skated on for a bit.

i got to watch dustin skate the NIMHS finally broken in last Thursday Night Skate. Let me tell you he is still crazy. It seems very reminiscent of old DL. he just needs to start rocking polo hats again…hehe. Everything will come full circle..just watch! And keep a look out for the next Revolution tns edit, cause dude was killing it!

DL is the man. man I love his sections from BFG and the other Mindgame vids. Coup de tat is also one of my favorites. he kills everything!
too bad the whole Xsjado thing fell for him and Shane, I still ride them but I might stop. its so true what some of you guys here write, we should stop thinking about who’s the best all the time. lets just make something out of what we are doing. ok, its super cool w all of u who organize things like bitter cold, winterclash and smaller city street comps. dont get me wrong. instead of speaking ill about people, lets just do our thiung and try to do best all the time. we need more kids to see what we are doing. otherwise we will keep on being ‘the misfits’ in extreme sports…rollerblading, blading or freestylerolling…doesnt matter what u call it as long as u are doing it. and feeling it.

thats right, boycott powerslide, support nimh and lets see how they grow, or others like them grow, and keep control ourselves. maybe in a few years nimh will have the money for new molds, new skates, maybe a xsjado type of advance (im not saying a skate like xsjado, im saying an innovation as meaningful as the xsjado was-is).
(by the way, too bad salomon skates are not made anymore, and that salomon owns them, the old vinny minton boots where and are the best !!!)

From the way he is darting around the issue my guess is that they had to sell their souls to Salomon just to get the skates made in the first place…………. HUGE MISTAKE! They trusted big business. Then big business fucked them by selling out to powerslide. This kind of thing happens every day, this day it happened to a rollerblader.

Salomon skates were just as “revolutionary” as the xsjado. They made the most ergonomic boot ever which was based on their ski boots, too bad they used plastic that was too soft and slid like shit.

do you think there is a pro skater struggle between the powerslide guys and the rat tail guys over whether or no farmer and stockwell we ALSO switch skate companies and ride for NIMH instead of xsjado. Cause they both left xsjado frames for ground control which is another rattail company. 4×4, vicious, ground control, and nimh are all the same company really.

oh yeah, boycott Salomon, Not xsjado/powerslide. Salomon is the one who screwed Dustin and Shane by not giving them proper deal from the get go. Powerslide actually kept the company and xsjado product alive by buying it from salomon who OWNED it, and we all know decided to abandon the inline industry completely. FUCK SALOMON. EVERYBODY, PLEASE, PLEASE, ONLY BUY SKATER OWNED, ITS THE ONLY WAY WE(skaters & skating) WILL GROW!

im sorry he doesnt own all of it, and im not sure what if any part he owns in it. Valo is really a division of roces creatively and fully ran by julio. You always have to give props to julio and anything he supports brcause you know when he gets a chance hell make a %100 owned co.

Nope. Jon Julio doesn’t own Valo. Their main office is Roces in Montebelluna, Italy. ROCES. Kudos to Roces for supporting the industry though. No corporate fuck would want to pour funds into 3 team skate videos, a huge team of riders, daily website updates, and other stuff that needs money.

I really don´t think he´s talking about Powerslide. Powerslide was the one who didn´t let xsjado die, because salomon was quitting inline skating. Simple as that.
Powerslide is the company that support us all the way, since usd was created. If we had only remz and razors in the world, they woudn´t have fitness and speed and hockey skates to sell, and we all know where freestyle rolling came from. Street-only brands are beatifull, but we need more money in he industry to make it flow.
So, don´t put your hate on powerslide, because they were the ones who pushed he product´s limits for a long time, improving our rolling experience

for example: X company bought xsjado product license for $5,000.00 but X company will make way more than that once they start selling xjsado world wide. Now they were raped (DL and Shane) because X company did not create or help with the idea of xsjado so why should they give the creators less money…I just think thats fucked up. I own my own business so I do know why they did what they did on both sides but that is still fucked up!
But I know I will stick with the Nimhs and GC etc.

If its Powerslide then I’ve lost all my fucking respect for them and I won’t buy a freaking product from The Conference EVER again. If its Salomon then jesus fucking christ its a good thing they quit the inline business before I strapped C4 explosives on their main office.
Hell, Dustin Latimer should make another video explaining the internal events of Xsjado in full detail from the day it was started to the day he retired and left. Its the only way we can clear this mess and make me decide whether I should praise or punch the next asshole I see with Xsjado skates on.

That post by Dustin Latimer in the be-mag messageboards debunks my theory that Nimh worked with him to release videos and instigate an uprising to make rollerbladers aware that they should buy “skater-owned” products. Oh well, let’s hope Powerslide changes that shitty manufacturer they have in China and get those Farmer 2 boots out as soon as possible.

Powerslide bought from salomon after all this problems.
I do think powerslide should bring DL and all the involveds into the “new xsjado” project. But it´s really stupid to thing that powerslide is the one who fucked them. As I said in the previous comment, POWERSLIDE is the one who´s keeping xsjado SKATES alive. If not, salomon would “die” and them you all woudn´t even think about hating powerslide.
We should ALWAYS thanks powerslide for what they did and do for rolling. Even DL should, because I DO REMEMBER WHEN UpSideDown cam out and what happened to the skaters (dustin, champion, julio, etc) back then. So, unimmformed kids, SHUT THE FUCK UP and start reading between the lines.
