Before I read interviews with Be-mag and One Mag, Bolino was definitely one of my favorite skates but that has gone downhill since then. I respect his skating and nothing else. He is a complete douche bag in every single interview he has participated in. Don’t be John Bolino. Go to school, kids. I don’t see him growing up anytime soon.

you’ve managed to state the obvious truth which is … its not his job to be the blading movement spokesman-he’s an athlete which means that his job is skate hard and stylish so we can all watch it and get juiced… and although its a shame that a native american cannot speak his own language I think that “I’ll be able to settle down whenever…or just die.” might be the smartest thing he said during these twenty minutes :)

Some of you guyz may think that Jon doesn’t represent rollerblading but as he is well known for being a rollerblader and the the way he performed in this interview, like some people already mentioned projected himself as a complete idiot and it really does give rollerbladers a bad image.
Imagine Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan did an interview like that and gave irrelevant answers, everyone will be bashing him and question his professionalism.
Yea I know parties are good, but at least have vision or what you are doing.

Of course he thinks partying is the coolest thing ever. He ain’t 21 yet and he’s a pro rollerblader with no real responsibilities (I mean if it’s your responsibility to go out and get clips and skate in competitions how hard is it really to fulfill those “responsibilities”?). I talked to him for a bit at the 09 Bittercold and he seemed like a cool dude and was better spoken (probably cuz there wasn’t any pressure of a camera up in his face). This interview won’t really take away from his skating. I do agree with Aragon who said in a Jug/Razors ad (I think it was for his Jug shoe, but on the Razors podcast) that it’s okay to be really talented at blading and not act like a dumb punk kid and be articulate (I’m paraphrasing a bit, but you get the point). It definitely wouldn’t hurt Bolino to take a lot of this “hate” into consideration and maybe start giving a little more of a fuck about what others think and try and do the whole speaking thing a bit better. He’s still young any way guys. Cut him a little slack. Who’s the most articulate young skater y’all know?

It took 50 posts for someone to actually make a more insightful comment, and from a guy named Poopenshaft. Most of you people bitching watched this interview and seem to not even listen to what he says or payed attention to what went on in the interview. You guys have your heads too far up your asses that you can’t even think, yet try to sound like a smart ass or super articulate.
John never said he wants to be an ambassador or skater of the year, and questions the fact why anybody even likes him. Obviously the guy loves to skate and have a good time. He might not seem like the smartest guy when he speaks, but his skating says a lot about what goes on in his mind. He doesn’t just bust mindless shit. His skating is art. He’s still a kid and hopefully one day he will grow up and he’ll be ready to take on some of the responsibility that has been thrown on to him. Most skaters that people look up to nowadays were not too much different than this.
