lets go julio / broskow!! they do so much for rollerblading

September 10th, 2009 at 2:42 am
tough choices all around. good nominations!
September 10th, 2009 at 2:56 am
Cudot is a lock for rookie of the year, but I will tell you that sizemore impressed the shit out of me on the Rollerblade edit of the Montreal Classic. Haffey’s section from Drip Drop was something else. Who knows…it is good to see shit like this though. Instead of focusing on coporate shit and expanding into the mainstream all the time, I think smaller things like this mean a whole lot more to the future of the rollerblading.

Pam and Richie! doin’ it big baby! mos def, big part of the industry! no doubt.
September 10th, 2009 at 4:58 am
I thought sizemore won rookie of the year last year, or was at least nominated. How many times can one guy go for the title. I am not saying he isn’t qualified, because he is, but I think we need to make a distinction on who is a rookie and who isn’t.
September 10th, 2009 at 5:00 am
Richie does not even let people skate at woodward he taxes money like its a club or a movie boo this man no recognition for him and no more woodward for me boo this man
September 10th, 2009 at 5:16 am
Where the fk is Aragon ?
He’s skated the most consistently this year..
September 10th, 2009 at 5:22 am
richie is on some grown up shit, he doesn’t let lil kids play around on the big ramps! HAHA maybe thats why you feel that way….. its a business and thirty’s the new twenty! don’t mess with richie or his good name, or else ill put my steel toes on and do the waltz! HAHA

Ha thanks Mousley,
All good in the hood. Im just trying to put back into it all but Julio and Kato are very reputable individuals and doing great thing for us all. If anything i think it should go to soley to Pam. She is the heart and soul of this industry she really cares that we succeed.
Up Side Down. sorry for whatever i did to you..

DL, kato
the other choices are crap. The usual “in crowd”

..where´s Mr. Chase????
September 10th, 2009 at 9:05 am
his name is WOJDA ;)
September 10th, 2009 at 9:18 am
The other titles are open for debate.
But anyone who thinks Sizemore or Cudot should win Rookie is a fucking clueless gimp with no understanding of the current state of rollerblading.
Rollerblading is not spinning to win. Rollerblading is not about hammers at the sacrifice of style. And most of all, rollerblading is not about who can win comps by doing either of the above.
Wojda is the only skater of the 3 that I would say is actually a great skater.
September 10th, 2009 at 11:42 am
Wodja (One please!)
Vibralux (On top, Clever, etc)
Montre (rocks)
September 10th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
This is too personal for me to pick. Like… Demetrios section (one) was amazing for my eyes, don’t ask me why i like it better than many others.
hey Isaac, can you guys tell us the % of votes from USA computers? I would love to see the numbers to measure how real this results can be. Not questioning (lol) , just wondering ;)
September 10th, 2009 at 3:10 pm
Julien Cudot & Mark Wojda are NOT PRO. sizemore is not a rookie. Who ever came up with this poll is a joke. DL is obviously the HOF. Shima isnt retired so he doesnt count and lets face it Josh Petty shouldn’t even be considered before Aooron Feinberg, and Randy Spizer get a nomination.
Overall Major Fail on these
September 10th, 2009 at 3:14 pm
Rookie of year nominees should be people who turned PRO this year, not AMS.
nominees should be: Jon Jon Bolino, Montre, and Brandon Campbell.
That makes sense
September 10th, 2009 at 3:16 pm
I meant Brandon smith, sorry

September 10th, 2009 at 4:51 pm
Great finalists.
I just don’t get limiting hall of fame to one of three. All three of those guys deserve hall of fame status. How can you just pick one? When other sports have hall of fame nominations, they usually inducted one or more. Kind of doesn’t make sense to me.
September 10th, 2009 at 6:04 pm
WTF! wheres michael collins in rookie of the year!? david sizemore isnt a rookie! he was in barely dead! and aragon should deffinately be in skater of the year, he puts everything into the sport.
September 10th, 2009 at 6:10 pm
Mark is too legit to be a rookie. He’s above this.
September 10th, 2009 at 6:37 pm
isn’t Shima still skating? why HOF?
September 10th, 2009 at 6:49 pm
We need more attention to be paid to our older generation of pros. Give THEM free skates and send THEM on tour, put some money in THIER pockets…
This industry is ass backwards. The most important pros in several of our sports generations have been all but forgotten, and we’re just left with wave after wave, year after year, of new 16 year old kids as “Pro”
September 10th, 2009 at 7:26 pm
16 year old kids ARE NOT pro. don’t be fooled. Cudot is not a rookie cause he still isnt pro yet. What don’t you people understand by the term “rookie”. You have to be in your 1st year as a pro to be a “rookie”. What the hell is Issaac from eulogy smoking with these nominees?????
September 10th, 2009 at 8:28 pm
Still do not understand why Aragon isn’t in the list.
Rest seems fine to meh.
September 10th, 2009 at 8:42 pm
haffey haffey haffey &)
September 10th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
@ hamish: aragon is one of the best skaters, but after the years its boring to see him skating, because its the same since years.
i think the whole thing is ok.
shima should win everything ;)
IN the end the award for “beeing the fucking best underground extreme sport worldwide- even if there is no tv support and less money in the industry” should go to: FREESTYLE ROLLERBLADING and its szene!!!

Ray, it’s bad to define what rolling IS or IS NOT – it’s just whatever the individual says it means to them. All definitions of the word “rookie” aside, seeing as Cudot’s in the mix, he’s getting my vote.
All the skater/team/ nominees are very very worthwhile, it seems like all of those names and brands have put their all into everything they’ve done this year.
I’d probably vote for Broskow for SOTY if it wasn’t for him refusing to skate against Godenaire at FISE, or so I heard…anyone set me straight on what happened?
September 14th, 2009 at 11:48 am
@ Marco: Not everyone thinks this way. I for one admire his style and SOMEWHAT repetitive tricks. The thing is, he’s the most consistent skater I think this sport has ever had and has proven this, especially this year.
One would think he’d at least make it into skater of the year for this.
