  10. juju Says:

i dont understand the hipster bike tshirt… can some one explain. thanks

  11. bballog Says:

so do they even support rollerblading anymore or just leech off of us to support their own interests like fixed gears. Someone should make a shirt that says ditch your bike, get some blades. For the hipsters: http://www.believeinone.com/?p=268

  12. der Says:

blading isn’t where the money’s at. get over it.

  13. bballog Says:

then they have no business being on rollernews

  14. :-p Says:

Are you dumb? look at the people who invented this. Ps it is awesome that a brand that has connections with rollerblading finally is doing something profitable.

  15. western Says:

    this is so fucking gay
    oh fixed gears are cool?
lets make a shirt and a track bike team!
i think their a few years late on trying to market fixies.

  16. Satan Says:

    face it.
    joe navran is an asshole.
what about the promised franco shade rollerblading team video?
well, never came out. and since the now have a “new” name and are a “new” company, they probably never ever will release it.
fuck joe navran, he sucked all the money he could out of rollerblading and now has it left to die!

  17. J Says:

    FUCK FRANCO SHADE!

  18. 1684684 Says:

fracno with a bike tee….never buying franco again

  19. Chris Says:

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

  20. Fanmail Says:

Franco’s got a nice plaid button up. That shirt is DDDDOOPE! kind of pricey though.

  21. Fanmail Says:

    Btw manny is the man!

  22. bballog Says:

Franco gave up on rollerblading instead of promoting it to wider audience. Nothing about rollerblading on their website. Nothing. At least Gost has a shirt to support the AIL. I have no issues with Franco Shade as a clothing company, I have issues with them leeching off our culture as a foundation to make money in other outlets that do not support rollerblading.

  23. stab Says:

    fucked faggy fixed gears
    blade or die

  24. onelovenohate Says:

if we can reach out to other cultures, more power to us! it’s about time we showed that rollerbladers care about more than just ourselves.
for those who don’t know, that’s exactly what people on the outside think of us, that we think we’re special and don’t care about anyone else.
we should be trying to combat this stereotype rather than perpetuate it

PEOPLE DON’T CARE WHAT YOU KNOW UNTIL THEY KNOW THAT YOU CARE

  25. bballog Says:

No the problem is no one on the outside actually cares about rollerblading because they don’t know what it is. Then companies that started as rollerblading companies, use our culture as a foundation, then hide that fact. We should only care about ourselves. Skateboarders don’t care about anyone else, ever read Thrasher? We are special and we should care only about ourselves and educating other outlets about rollerblading, not hiding it. We should be proud to be bladers not jock someone else’s trend again. We shouldn’t have an identity crisis, we should stand up and be heard. Not ride bikes. Blade or Die as Tommy Boy would say. We need relevancy for rollerblading.

  26. bballog Says:

Has anyone here ever rollerbladed to work and been noticed, run into someone new to skate with, or struck up a conversation about why your skates look different? Carry a pair of Valos around in the city for a day. Someone will say something. We have to bring rollerblading to people. You can’t do that riding a bike and wearing Franco Shade.

  27. Mr. Beans Says:

bballog said;”Franco gave up on rollerblading instead of promoting it to wider audience. Nothing about rollerblading on their website. Nothing. At least Gost has a shirt to support the AIL. I have no issues with Franco Shade as a clothing company, I have issues with them leeching off our culture as a foundation to make money in other outlets that do not support rollerblading.” Thats TRUE, make a T-shirt about rollerblading, a cartoon with skates or something, not a biker, what the f@ck!, bikers or any other sport T-shirts will never have something that has to do with our sport. I like the Team Pac Man” Shirt, but x Death Pedal Tee its so F@cking Gay.

  28. gone fishing Says:

Arlos gone, this artwork appears to me to be a poor imitation of his humor, fact of the matter is that nobody will be able to continue something somebody else started. And really, yeah they cater to more than rollerblading but thats what needs to be done. Every company does it, people who don’t skateboard buy skateboarding shoes…even bmx ridas. People who don’t snowboard wear snowboard brand outerwear. You should never limit your potential. Put yourself in that position, rollerblading as an industry is…lets face it, SHIT. there is no income..and if you chose to be involved with the industry you don’t want to be making ends meet your whole life that’s bullshit. Thats all it is.

  29. ninja9 Says:

all it is is a collaboration w/ a hipster fixed bike shit company. If it was not a collab w/ a fixed bike brand or whatever it is and they had that graphic it would be different. It isnt a bad thing to collaborate w/ other cultures- depending on what they are.

  30. yeahh boy Says:

i dont care what they do. they have some really tight gear

  31. rachard johnson Says:

no mattert what shits gonna be frsh…..joe held it down, holds it down and will continue to hold it downhe is makin the vid so just wait.. bills still need to be paid..

  32. rollerblading is gay Says:

wheres the franco shade skateboarder shirt?

  33. resuk Says:

    hating is easy innit boys…

you all wear brands which arent sport related, nike reebok adidas etc etc.

but when franco supports another industry next to rollerblading,
all of a sudden they suck…its just a brand, if you like how it looks,
you buy it…if you dont..then dont…its got nothing to do with fixedgear
    of rollerblading..

  34. jakee Says:

it obviously does have something to do with rollerblading, its a let down that FRSh practically gave up on rollerblading, its nothing to do with the brands that we wear everyday, though saying that i dont think people would be happy if nike suddenly supported rollerblading either, there would be many a complaints in that department.
its just the fact that such a prolific name in rollerblading, has now given its name to be associated with ‘fixed gear’ biking, just a bit of a let down, but i guess you have to go where the money is.

  35. juju Says:

making no reference whatsoever to skating is ridiculous. the first time they do something related about something real (not little ghosts or crazy shit, which is cool..) and they put some hipster guy with a fixed gear bike… absurd.

  36. bballog Says:

From a design standpoint, I like the shirts, I have no issues with the clothing, just don’t market yourself to rollerbladers when you are not actively supporting rollerblading. Franco can support fixed gears all they want, but they should remember their roots and do the same for rollerblading. It’s not about paying bills. That’s a cop out. Look at all the retailers that carry their shit. I went to college, got a real job, and I run a non-profit zine about rollerblading (RollZine). I never got into rollerblading to make money. And I would never turn my back on it to make money off someone else’s trend.

  37. proparolla Says:

    For you haters…

  38. onelovenohate Says:

wearing a shirt that says “ditch your bike, get some blades” will only earn you a beatdown the next time you run into a pack of BMXers at your local skatepark! and thinking we’re more special than everyone else will just continue to turn people off, worse than that, it will put an even bigger target on our backs
i won’t buy these latest FRSH shirts (b/c i pretty much only buy stuff that’s directly related to rollerblading) but i definitely appreciate the 10+ FRSH shirts i already have and want to say THANK YOU ARLO for your love and continued support of rollerblading

  39. onelovenohate Says:

hopefully Gost will continue on where FRSH has veered off, with stuff designed by rollerbladers for rollerbladers.

  40. gone fishing Says:

catering to “just rollerbalders” is gay….probably the most detrimental ideas a company could have, there is no profit future or benefit in narrowing your sales down to such a small collected group. peroid

  41. Jon Says:

“wheres the franco shade skateboarder shirt?”

    best point made period

  42. Jamie Says:

    Ignorance is NOT bliss.

I dont even ride fixies but thats a dope shirt!
