Comeback of the year? The new VII 2011 Team Skate.
The VII was originally created as a pricepoint skate but after it was drastically improved both in comfort, hardwear and looks skaters on the team began to take an interest.
Simply put, this skate can battle any skate on the market. Its liners are high quality and exceedingly comfortable, and the cuff and boot combination is a perfect balance between support and flexibility. The new soulplate is a variation of the enormously popular Carbon soulplate with a brand new groove.
The skate really can be considered one of the most comfortable and accomodating skates on the market with a full lightweight soulplate to compliment the boot as well as a lowered heel for better anti-shock. As if all these improvements were not enough, the brand new Kizer Type-M frame will be making its premier exclusively on this skate.
Ideal for beginners thanks to its tantalizing price but also great for experts thanks to its hi-spec features, this skate is bound to be one of the best-sellers of 2011 (via).

With the desire to make this new skate available to a lower budget we took the time to talk to companies about making special plastic blends that could serve to re-create the Carbon effect at a more affordable price.
After two meetings with DuPont we were told that they had the perfect plastic for us: DuPont Hytrel TPC-ET Thermoplastic polyester elastomer.
Hytrel, a thermoplastic and elastomer in one. Hytrel thermoplastic polyester elastomers provide the flexibility of rubber, the strength of plastic and the processibility of thermoplastics.
Hytrel is also available in a full range of Shore D hardness (30D to 82D). Special grades are heat stabilized, flame retardant and blow molded. Concentrates include black pigments, UV protection additives, hydrolysis resistant additives, heat stabilizers and flame retardants.

The VII skate has evolved into a secret weapon. Already known for being lightweight and extremely comfortable it now comes with a completely renewed soulplate, very similar to its Carbon counterpart which has proven perfect. The shell has been reworked for better compatability with UFS allowing for a lower center of gravity, more control and more space for the Sifika shock-absorber.
This brand new VII also comes with a harder plastic shell for better support.
The all new VII skate is as good as any hardboot out there, if not better – and it comes at the fraction of the cost. Perfect for beginners and professionals alike, this skate will satisfy your every aggressive need.
The skate includes the brand new VII soulplate, USD liners, an all-new 2011 Type M frame and USD wheels and bearings.
For comfort, price and quality you simply can’t beat this skate.

The Carbon is a dream skate for many skaters, yet it is also a high class product made of the most expensive materials used on an aggressive skate.

First of all I have to say that this review is based on my personal experiences and opinions. I know it sounds really positive but that´s just because I`m seriously in love with the carbon II.
As I skated the deshi carbon, several Usd carbons, a prototype of the carbon II and now the carbon II white I thought some people might be interested in what I have to say about the skate.
One day I received a parcle from Usd. I thought it was the new clothing line and I was right. But the parcle also contained a pair of carbon II`s. I don`t know if the skate weights even less than the “old” carbons but it`s defninitely extremely light. [...]

I’ve been skating my Carbon IIs for almost four months now. Best blades I’ve ever skated. Hands down. They are the smallest and lightest boots I’ve ever ridden, super comfortable, the new cuff concept has fixed the previous forward flex issue while still remaining very supportive… And they look badass.
Recently, the high quality of these blades really hit me. I was looking down at them and they are still in great shape. While everyone I have been skating with has worn out their respective blades and is on their second or third pair, the Carbon IIs are fine. The materials are very high quality and it makes a difference. In the four months that I’ve had them, I’ve skated hard almost every single day; filming for Vine St, shooting park edits, all types of street, cess slides, gaps, ledges, etc. and they’re still going strong. [...]

How does the cuff system work and does the skate use a liner?
Oli Benet: The Carbon skate was loved by most, but we always pay a lot of attention to feedback, not only from our team but also from our customers and online. We like to make the effort to improve all we develop, and that is exactly what we have done here.
Some skaters had an issue with the flex on previous Carbons, especially the front-back flex. The lack of a separate cuff was seen by an advantage to some, but many preferred the feeling of an independent cuff piece for more variable support, especially noticeable on jumps and landings. [...]
