The Genesys skate has been one of Razors most popular skates ever since its release over 10 years ago. A trusted boot of many pros throughout the years, it offers sturdiness and perfect balance between support and flex.
Undergoing numerous looks and color changes since its inception, we felt it was time to take it back to the basics, a classic black and white.
The G10 edition features GC Featherlite frames, replaceable grind and backslide plates and super comfortable Razors liners. The pre-shaped grooves of the frame and backslide are perfectly aligned making it ready to use out of the box.
Since that time Razors has introduced a number of SL models including Brian’s 3rd, 4th, and 5th skates along with models for Dre Powell, Stefan Horngacher, Alex Burston, Don Bambrick, Mathias Silhan and our most recent release for Jeph Howard.
One might say that each of these riders produced some of their best skating in the SL mold since the beginning of their careers as professionals. Not a surprise coming from a skate designed by skaters, specifically for skaters.
To this day, this is the only boot on the market that offers the baseless design, offering increased contact with grinds, lower center of gravity and a considerable drop in overall weight, while maintaining long lasting support.
Each piece of the SL skate is full replaceable, from the cuff to the buckle to each piece of the soul frame and Razors patented backslide plate. It also comes with a comfortable and streamlined Razors liner which allowed us to offer half sizes 7.5 & 9.5 fitting the smaller shell.
It is for these and many other reasons that we are excited for this release. Introducing the SL1.
During the process of designing the skate, Jenna Downing suffered from a Breast Cancer scare and decided that she wanted to draw awareness to the dangers of Breast Cancer that affect women across the world.
This has been symbolised by having a pink ribbon on the side of the skate. However, Jenna didn’t want to stop there as she has agreed to donate 100% of the profit she would make from this skate to Breast Cancer Care to help support their continued research.
The New Jeph Howard Pro is built on the same iconic boot as the traditional SL mold, but it is constructed with an entirely redesigned upper, reflecting Jeph Howard‘s admiration for simple, no nonsense shoes. Tan canvas mixed with grey and olive highlights atop the low profile, lightweight boot design creates a timeless look crossed with incredible performance.
The perfectly grooved backslide plate and baseless design allows the skater to experience a lower center of gravity, direct contact while grinding, easy transitions during switch-ups and near-perfect control on boot and soul tricks. An added strip of fabric is placed between the soulframe and boot shell to reduce clacking, giving you that solid ‘paahk’ sound every time you land.
