World Rolling Series: Television Pilot, Website still not updated
Monday, May 23rd, 2011
Daniel Kinney, so, the word’s out on this new deal but not that many people have seen it yet, so let’s start with you. What made you decide to begin spearheading this project?
What it really came down to is pretty simple. The main focus for a lot of people when discussing the current state of rollerblading is television.
Rollerblading does not have that massive broadcast exposure it once had.
Rather than start a Facebook group, complain about it on any number of message boards, or latch on to any tiny bit of mainstream exposure rollerblading might stumble into, I decided to take it upon myself to do a complete X-Games/ASA style broadcast of the Bitter Cold Showdown with fellow video-bladers. Rather than simply sit back and complain, I decided to take action and see what happens.

Kato (Remz) was interviewed by Sophie Planque this week and he was talking about the WRS Website:
Sophie Planque: Regarding WRS, I feel like it’s a sort of wake up call, a need for some sort of structure in blading.
Kato: This could take hours to answer! (laughs).
WRS was created from a necessity. The concept is to connect all events together, big and small, without putting too much pressure on anyone of course, these guys need to keep their individuality and independence.
It’s a great idea, bring everyone together basically, bladers, organizers, media.
We are dropping a new website very soon, each organizer will have its own login to be able to update his event info and results.
Should be fun and interesting, I hope everyone takes it seriously and that things will keep evolving. It’s fun also to see the brand managers communicate a minimum together and work towards a common goal. [...]. Full Interview.
Ok so the WRS Website is not updated, why should we care? Answer: the WRS Rankings.
