whats the point of having a v-cut when the plastic cuff goes halfway up your leg????
its just marketing bullshit.
what they have done is increased the height of the cuff padding at the side of the leg.

finally. i hate to sound a poser but i just couldnt wear fucking organic lookin skates on my feet. the new stockwell and new farmer look ok, but this is the best so far in my eyes..
they almost look as good as they skate!

I kinda agree with the jomu. There doesnt seem much point in a v-cut if everything is is higher. Surely the need to cut down into the plastic cuff to make it worthwhile. Who knows though? They do look nice. Definitely the best looking shadows made. That basic footwrap looks nice too.

Jomu and hoax…
…the xsjado have two diferent setups for the height of the cuff cushion… and it seems that they setup it HIGH to take the pics… and that´s it. The cuff mold is the same, is not higher than previous ones.
The v-cut actually works (seen j.c rowe little edit?) otherwise he woudn´t cut off his skates for nothing. I´ve seen the new xsjados in my hands and can tell that they really evolved. : )

ohhh and people didn´t saw a couple of major mods that make the skates even better.
The straps are made of a material that won´t wear off as easy as the old ones, and they don´t strech after a wile. Also, the front piece that holds the two sides of the upper velcro has two screws now, avoiding them to twist when you use your xsjados tight. : )

go back and read what I typed.
I stated that the cuff padding at the side of the leg has been increased, use your eyes and you will see that is the case. The cuff padding is V-cut, the cuff plastic is not. I never stated the plastic cuff has increased in height.
The v-cut will work when the cuff height at the achiles is shorter (as JC has done), that isn’t the case here.
I’ve ridden remz so I know a proper v-cut has its benefits and I currently am riding my 3rd set of salomon xsjados.
I know these skates.
The only functional change (evolution) is the addition of a single screw holding the dual strap.

Jomu, I read it and really missunderstood the part of the plastic being higher… sorry… now I got what you ment.
Anyway, this v-cuts improoved a bit the ”back and forward” movement, the sides being a little higher just makes it more confortable. But I´m still SURE that the cushion is screwed in the “high” position and can be lower than this pic ; )
About remz and v-cut, it´s “too v cutted” for me hehehhehehe.
The only change is ONE SCREW ?!?!?! dammm, it isn´t ! V-cut, more cushion, new front velcro + tongue system, new colours, new straps, different footwraps….. for me thats EVOLVING : )

Just to clarify, two of these photos were taken by me at Slamm Jamm. As far as I know “they” haven’t released official pics.
I did however rty one of these on at teh event. It was 1-2 sizes small, but felt amazing. I’m an old (Pre OS) Remz skater and these I really like. The height of the padding at the sides makes them more comfortable under pressure while the V-cut means they don’t restrict your front to back motion too much.
The footwraps were a challenge (being small) but are like a decent pair of slip-ons and just feel right in or out of the skate. I would have to fight the temptation to use them as everyday footwear. Overall they were flexible, comfortable, livht and looked amazing. I gotta check out the current Remz (not OS, I hate them) but these may be my next purchase as I hear they may be out next month.

Nice skates!!! I think they are gettin better and better. I think with the more pad I think they are going to sound more solid and not plastic when you land and sounf like real skates when you land..

yes the only functional difference of the newest range of powerslide xsjados is an extra screw.

Great conversation about the product, Jomu, bur this “roll eyes” thing is what is bullshit.
Really, xsjados are more easy to sell than any other skate and there´s no extra-marketing needed at all. Having a connection alows me to talk with propriety about the skates, just like Duncan Clark, that has an inside view… because we actualy had them on our feet. No one is trying to fool anyone, we´re just glad to give some more infos about the product before the release, that´s all.

Cut you own xsjados and you´ll see that makes difference. The height of the pading in the cutted area (that has the plastic cutted as well) makes this support point on your leg lower, simple as that.
And again I say, the new front strap system makes difference in how your foot locks into the skate.
The fundamental difference is that they´re moving forward, evolving, improoving.

I still have to side with Jomu on all this. Not saying they’re entirely bad skates. I’m not saying they not flexy or anything like that.
It’s just that the changes on them seem a little redundant. The V-cut is needed because of the overall height of the liner, but ultimately wouldn’t it still feel the same as previous Xsjado models as the external cuff is STILL the same height?

from the pics above the plastic cuff appears to have had no changes made whatsoever.
If new pictures appear with an actual reduction in the external plastic cuff at the rear then great.
thats not what has been shown so far.
My ire rises because every usd throne that has come with a ‘u-cut’ so far has been been ridiculous. the liner remains at the same height as the height of the previous non ‘u-cut’ cuffs. Look at remz and you will see a true v-cut.
Hence I have little expectation that the xsjado ‘v-cut’ will make any significant difference.
Again, let me point out that I am currently riding xsjados. I love them.

Could it be possible that the padding in the cuff is set at its highest level so if you want it to feel like an original xsjado it would and if you want a v cuff you position the lining at its lowest position and cut off the excess plastic (kind of like remz) I don’t know. Just a thought

Jomu, get over it. Xsjado hasn’t even claimed a V Cut cuff on these. There hasn’t even been an official press release yet. A liner like that will make a difference in feel. So will that plush mono strap. At least the company is tryign new things rather than just pumping out various models with black/white/grey differences in skin (*cough remz). And last I checked selling rollerblades was a business, and marketing is key with selling, so get off your anti marketing bullshit.
Great improvements, best looking Xsjados by far.

did anyone else notice the total overhaul of the forefoot buckling system
everythign is connected (instead of three seperate buckles) as to prevent difficultys when putting them on
the v padding is great for extra support
teh footwrap looks much better the solid black ones anyway
both aesthetically and functionally
i will definitly buy em

These ones are proto’s.. i have seen the final product and they do have a V-cut there.. not just on the “liner”.. They took out the middle piece that is sticking out..
Also, nice that they put 2 screws to the strap now..

I have a question: what about the BIG size shell??
have they fixed the horrible problem it has that the footwrap shifts sideways, in the front of the skate?? there´s a lot of extra space in the front (the skate is fukin huge), and this doesn’t happen with the small shell where the footwrap fits perfectly in the shell.

guss what we dont have big comps all the time, they have other commitments besides rollerblading even though they would love to do it full time if the pay was better. we dont have comps that give them 30Euros,USD….. most we have is 10USD which yes is nice but hey how long will that last.., food,travel, everyday needs… family…

I’ll be honest i have never really wanted to try xsjados until now. Im glad Damien Wilson is getting a pro skate because he is a great skater. Anyway I think that xsjado is doing something right because everyone I talk to that rides them really likes the way they (xsjados) roll. Can’t wait to see the official release and hopefully try a pair in the near future. Congrats to Damien on his new skate.
And c’mon guys lets try not to hate so much. There is a big difference between hate and criticism and more often than not people post hate instead of criticism. -rant
