well said Dem! unlucky with the draw, if you were up against Aragon, Frankie or pretty much anyone else, you may have been ok here, well, apart from everyone voting off presence and not the actual edits like intended. anyway, fair play man!!
sorry? are you playing good loser now? after posting (and deleting) this on your facebook?
Demetrios on facebook:
“As for the tricks he tried. I’d try them. As for mine. Most just aren’t physically possible for nils. Judge it based off possibilities than maybe if fair better”
“My edit is decent but can’t deny the video quality of nils. Personally not afraid of the tricks he tried though. Flashy Yes but fun edit to watch. Sex sells”
Everyone loses at something in some point in their lives. Here is a guide to being a good loser so that you don’t get mad and make people think you have anger issues.
How to Be a Good Loser
1 Try not to think about.
2 Accept the fact that you did your best.
3 Go over the event in your mind. Figure out how you could have done it better.
4 Learn to do it better.
5 The main thing is to move on. Don’t look back except to learn from it.
6 Remember that other people don’t remember embarrassing things about you like you do.
7 Pretend like you actually matter.
It was good to see a dope Dem edit. I thought some of those tricks were every bit as big as Nils tricks, and more technical too. I really liked the first trick and the fish transfer royale 270 soul. Keep it up Dem. If nothing else that edit gave you and USD more visibility and that is only a good thing! When all is said and done, I’ll bet you have yourself some WRS points too (maybe even top 5?). good luck in the judges voting and stay up.
I think it would’ve been more even between Dem and Nils if Dem’s edit had much more intensity, the tricks certainly were just (or almost) as intense as what Nils had to offer but with that music and the slow-mo it gave the impression of being less gutsy and dynamic.
WHAT THE FUCK DOESNT ANYONE GET?
IT WAS A FAN VOTING !!!
GET A GRIP, DEMS FANS ARE NILS,
AND THEN NILS HAS HIS OWN FOLLOWING TWICE HIS.
HE PUT IN WORK, EVERYONE KNOWS. AMAZING EDIT
BUT THE NUMBERS CLEARLY STATE HE HAS MORE FANS.
NOT SKILL OR JUMPING ABILITY
• Difficulty. Difficulty can be applied to a stunt, line or a single technical trick. Clips will also be judged on the overall situation including; size, run-up, landing, weather, traffic, etc.
• Style. Competitors will be judged on style, confidence, control & speed.
• Spot selection. Submissions will be judged on the variety, type, difficulty and visual appearance of obstacles.
• Production value. Production value includes the filming, lighting, audio, music and editing of the video.
• Character. Character combines all of the above elements and evaluates the submission on overall entertainment and likability of competitor.
•Who was the panel of judges that handles final voting? New faces/names for this year?
We are still sorting out the judges for this year. Waiting on a few emails to be returned. However, the goal is to have 3 European and 3 American judges. All names that are well-known and respected within the community. And just like last year everything will be completely transparent. Everyone will not only be able to see the winners, but exactly who each judge voted for.
Guys THIS IS JUST THE FAN VOTING ROUND. The real judges will square out what skating is better or not later on. The fan voting is just what it is, whoever can get the most votes wins, regardless of whether the voters give a crap about blading or not.
You can’t “cheat” in a fan voting contest round, which this is. There are only requirements for the sections not the voters, and their shouldn’t be any. Just like American Idol and X Factor bullshit, whoever gets the most support SHOULD win “fan voting”.
If bladers where smarter this so called USA/France beef would simply be a highly calculated ploy akin to the fake beefs between west coast/east coast rappers that helped market Gangsta rap sooo well in the late 90s. Start all this drama so outsiders, or the less interested, are all of a sudden compelled to chime in.
Actually these arguments have all been just an inside joke between French and USA skaters to get more people to vote for a “rollerblading” contest because “it helps your country” wink wink hahaha. What’s funny is you are all falling for it. There isn’t a real argument this is just the best way to market blading right now, straight up rap battle style =) =)
