SICK! FUCK YOU HATERS!!!
That is the motto for 2012 all day! Damn… RB, and Majette had some Rollers back in the day… Steezy Veasy, and Gordon Kilgore Walt Austin? What! Holy moley that is almost too much.
I’m positive that these dudes skated at such a HIGH level of athleticism it only allowed them to roll like that for like 5 amazing years.
Chris Majette is like the mafia kids keep leaving and he pulls them back in. Brother man has Montre, and Wojda… Word.
And before everyone goes on the baggy rant, and what not… Skating did have a ton of passion back then… More than it does in it’s current state… There was also less hate, less skater owned, less internetz, and less skate parks… So people did skate more street, and dress baggier, and not look like a boarder…
Now people shop online, and jock the latest fashions, and all that absurdness, and we can see more of the world around us. Skating was still a bit younger at the point too, some people chose to thug it up and keep it street and defiant. Back in them old videos it was common for them to argue with security at a skate spot… And for it to be in the video…
Not so much anymore. Times change. I love the creativity in our sport, but don’t forget the roots people.
And writing skatings past… Chris Majette has had mad influence in our past time. Good shit!

One of the best dvds

One of my all time favorite bladers. He’s got some of the steeziest flat rail switch ups I’ve seen to date. It’s too bad he dipped out the industry like so many others, this is one cat I hated to see go.

^agreed. I miss that style like none other!

will didnt get what he deserved in blading so he naturally quit doing the biggest shit with no return haha but you wont ever find that song, and the best part is will could put his skates on right now and still be super good, just past getting hurt and on to real life, ill be sad when that happens to me cuz i know its coming, rollerblading is rough…

What’s wrong with this guy? It looks like he’s wearing sweatpants! How come he didn’t do any grinds on rails next to walls? I’m pretty sure there wasn’t one toe roll in there either. Where’s his vest? Why would he waste money on a real belt when he could just use a shoelace? He needs to watch an Oli Short section or something, I think.

Hashassins such a sick flick and will gordon had more steeze in his foot then most riders now a days

Willie Bobo is chillin in Greensboro playing golf. I loved filming for Hashassins and this section. I gave up a tooth to our kitchen floor for that video. Will never got the respect he deserved, at least not from Rollerblade.

yo purple first trick was body shuffle one foot wallride to backslide, last trick was 540 hold the fakie.
dont use the old school to hate on the new school, they will always have more in common than you think.
January 5th, 2012 at 12:11 pm
Finally an anon that isn’t hating! Great point though, they have so much in common, and one shouldn’t be used against the other, they are all from the same book. And Ben Rogers not many people got the respect they deserved from rollerblade… Sven is just now getting a skate. No offense to Rob G who is a G in every sense of the word, winner of Imyta, I was well more familiar with Sven before IMYTA even came out, and who got a proskate first from rollerblade… I remember Sven rocking Tory’s skate for the longest! Lol!
When I get my hands in the industry the bullshit is gunna stop… Real deal.

Basically proof that skating hit a plateau in 2004 that it hasn’t really moved beyond. Styles will change, but in terms of pure skill we haven’t seen much better than that in 7 years. In fact, except for a few exceptions, we’re struggling just to keep that level up.
Will Gordon – forgotten genius and casualty of the great rollerblade industry stagnation
January 6th, 2012 at 12:17 am
It’s just false nostalgia saying the industry had a better time around 2004 than today. In fact it was a all time low. The skating on the other was very good, but I can’t agree that rollerbladers aren’t on the same level today generally speaking.
January 6th, 2012 at 4:40 am
there is definitely a difference… i wish it became more popular but never changed. so many edits these days disappoint but mayb its cos there are not as many great DVDs like this anymore…
movies like vine st are on a higher level but in general people dont go as hard and the skating looks weaker.
January 6th, 2012 at 5:51 am
Used to be my one of my best Doods. Will was so loyal that it ended his blading career but yes dood could still kill it now if he wanted. rollerblading is child’s play play…get it how you live.
January 6th, 2012 at 7:09 am
i heard will was like super tall is that true that being said if he is that tall he has fuckin awesome style its hard to not look lanky when your tall like and his shit is on point i agree with some of u above shit just isnt lookin like this nowadays
January 6th, 2012 at 8:09 am
I dont really post comments much but I just wanted to give props to where it is deserved… I watched this video countless times growing up and seeing this section really blew my mind,
Every trick is sooooooo amazing and steezy. The wallride to almost Illusion 720 spin was fresh.
If you read this Will, Thanks pal. Thanks for blading.
January 6th, 2012 at 8:16 am
I gotta disagree with 8. There were as many crappy video release in 04 as you’ll find this year. We only tend to remember the good videos or sections and the rest fade into dust the way they should.
I think nowadays, even though there are plenty of crappy videos for sale, the standard to rollerblading has actually gone up. It’s getting easier to find bladers that push steeze then it was back in the day and it’s people like Will and Sagona that set the precedent.
January 6th, 2012 at 3:38 pm
its seemed so much better back then but i guess style just evolves and the level increases with it. but no matter wat shit like this will always be remembered…
