July 18th, 2006 at 11:05 pm

July 18th, 2006 at 11:05 pm

when I was at woodward there was a guy on rollerskates throwing backflips, mctwists, and grinds on high vert. all this guy does is roll down the street on his heel and dance around some cones. yawwn
July 19th, 2006 at 12:35 am
I agree, doing cone slalom went out with neon colored rec skates. Let it die.
July 19th, 2006 at 12:53 am
WTF!!!!
They killed Remz (which I happen to own a pair)…who the hell has the time or attention span to make it into quads?

July 19th, 2006 at 12:55 am

July 19th, 2006 at 12:57 am
ok that was gay as hell
July 19th, 2006 at 1:27 am
dam that was sick, and know what i say screw you to all those ppl with the negative comments, if you roll and truly love the sport than your supposed to appreciate every form of it, period. so screw you all.
July 19th, 2006 at 2:26 am
If he really wants to skate handrails and miniramp, is it really so hard for him to just get some normal aggressive frames and save the quads for his cone slalom
July 19th, 2006 at 2:27 am
Actually no everyone is entitled to their opinions Eddie. Just because I love the aggressive style of rolling does not necessarily mean I have NO CHOICE but to like the racing form, recreational form, freeskate form or slolom form or in this case the quad form. I agree that this video is pretty nice and a look back at what it was like back in the day but it does not mean that everyone else will agree with the form. It’s actually good to see varying comments on it also seeing as how if everyone had the same views about it then it would be a bit boring. At the same time it would be nice if others would be open minded to accept certain different things like say another religion. But, you know what? You won’t find people that open-minded and that’s sometimes a shame. I like the vid because it’s a look back at how this whole rolling thing used to be. History of rolling says that people used to quad skate aggressive around the same time as skateboarders. The trouble is they never did have many photos or actual history to show. A lot of it is really still word of mouth. It’s nice to see them applying it. It doesn’t mean that i love it enough to drop my Razors skates or my Baker skateboard. it just means that i think it’s fun and a bit interesting to see things done on them. Peace.

im not saying you have to love this quad skating if you love rollerblading, im just saying appreciate it is all, i mean before aggressive skates, this is a;; that there was. So, just appreciate the fact that we’re still not skating quads, and our sport has evolved, but most of these comments are negative, dont critise the quad skating man, its a flash from the past, and the guy is really good at what he does, To finalize im just sayin dont be so quick to negative comment this style of skating, and just think if there wasnt quad skating there probaly wouldnt of been an evolution to aggressive skating. Know your roots.

July 19th, 2006 at 9:55 am
I was kind of sceptical at first, but this guy made quads look cool !He’s hella good !
July 19th, 2006 at 9:58 am
wat all u haters need to realise is that everyone has fun in ther own way. if u have nuthin positive to say keep it to ur fuckin self!! fuckin forum freaks!!
July 19th, 2006 at 10:06 am
No matter what people say, that guy was sick. May have looked a little strange at times (I’m not really a slalom fan to be honest), but fair play for doing hand rails in quads. The guy has got to be be a bit nuts to try that. What is up with French people these days they seem to be going a bit crazy. Just look at district 13. French=crazy

Iused to meet Walid, and I can tell you he’s good at inlines too.
He was one of the first street skaters in Paris. At that time, they were only two to own argons in Paris.
But now he has tried every form of skating, he choose quads. That’s his choice, respect it.

Hi Ru_Stockwell,
thanks for the message, I remember well this session at the skatepark (my twisted ankle too :) ). It was cool, I had my freeskate skates (it was the last time I used inlineskates).
I’ve been doing agressive skating since 1995… at this time it as the begining in France… what a great time thoses years ;)
thanks for all the comments, especially the quad=gay, this one is so cool, I’d say mythical, I now use it all the time :)

Walid - Small in stature, but a giant on quad skates. :-)
December 16th, 2006 at 3:39 pm
