Valo Skates, How to Cut the toes (Tutorial)

How to go about cutting the toes of your Valo skates to make more room to A. fit a smaller size, B. fit the correct size. C. Fit an aftermarket liner.

Edit by Ivan Narez featuring Ivan Narez and Victor Arias.

For the last few months toe cuts have been the latest craze. It seems that it’s every rollerbladers dream to fit into a size 3 skate, and while that vivid wet dream of having the skates off of barbie’s feet may be distant to some, others are getting closer to it by snapping the toes off of their skates.

For lack of a better example (but probably the best example) we will be using the Valo AB.1 available here. This procedure can be done on all Valo models and come similarly done on ALL nimh skates.

valo toe cut

You can do this on any skate that has an over boot. Models that I can think of off the top of my head include some USD Grycon skates, Some of the older Cults, heck you might even be able to do it on some RB’s even though I don’t think there is a whole lot to deal with up there anyways.

Thanks Ivan Narez.

  3. xsjado-man Says:

good to see Aggressivemall have step up there game in the editing world. very professional! gd job. but i dont see how it would make a huge diffrent to the skate??

  4. kuntaciacho Says:

    just buy nimhs then

  5. ?????????? Says:

    DONE WRONG!!!!!

The cut should bee farther back, a few mm below the first lace hole. There should be no bridge. If you do it correctly the skate will open more to relieve pain and pressure on the bunion.

  6. Slava Says:

    what liners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????

  7. Dylan B. Says:

??????????? is right there should be no bridge so that it makes the skate less narrow as well so that a bigger foot can squeeze comfortably into the smaller skate. And yeah does anyone know what liners those are or if they are prototypes for some company??????

  8. Travis Stewart Says:

Ivan. I’m loving all this work your doing for the rolling world. You have almost single handedly pushed video editing and pst production for ads and edits to the next level with your camera equipment and post production techniques. I loved the B. Smith ad, and this one is just as good, always keeping the viewer watching, and even though this was a just a simple, cut here, do this, I couldn’t even look away. Thanks man, Keep this up, this is what we need in rollerblading, Professionalism, not more and more crap. :)

That editing on that was slick! I seen the A.B blue skins for sale on some website but i cant remember which one, can anyone help?

  11. ivan narez Says:

Thanks travis. I personally don’t cut the bridge on my toes but victor actually does. I felt like it made it a bit floppier than I wanted it so I decided to keep it in. I suppose we should have mentioned that you could also cut to remove the bridge but it was super last second decision to make it so we kind of just free styled everything.
Glad you guys liked it though

i wasn’t really interested in what it is about but i had to watch it…

  18. David McNamara Says:

VICTOR CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TOOL YOU USE? I have been looking online at grinders but I don’t want to buy a big badass one when a simple hand held skinny one like that will do the job… anyone know what the grinder victor uses is called?

  19. kaseta Says:

the grinder is a craftsmen dremmel drill, i just did this to my valos just because i wanted to see if it effects performance which it doesnt, but it does help the comfort factor, you can also use a hand saw not a wood one, cause at first i couldnt find my dremmel and it was actually pretty easy

  20. mothraw Says:

Bcam salomon liners get edumatcated goofs

  21. ivan narez Says:

its something along the lines of this
    amazon.com/Dremel-3962-02-Multipro-Variable-Accessories/dp/B...
worked out pretty well other than the blade breaking as you can see.
Liners are not solomans, they are better!
