USD Transformer: JoJo Velasquez Pro Model

Larger Picture of the Skates on Rollerenligne.
The first kid to get a skate named for him is JoJo Velasquez from the Velasquez family at Camp Woodward.
The family as a whole does a ton for the inline industry.
JoJo being around Woodward so much has become a pretty bad ass little skater as well. Thus, USD has teamed up with JoJo to design his very own skates which you see here.
A portion of the proceeds for this skate go to JoJo’s college education. Hopefully he takes after his Mom as Richie’s noggin’ is more of a hat rack.
This in adjustable skate modeled after the USD Transformer.

i hope forum comes along and sues USD’s ASS!
November 20th, 2009 at 8:27 pm
This is really cool, I’m sure you’re a proud father, Richie.
He’s a perfect child representative to be given a skate, I think it was a good move by USD. Hopefully he be able lead another generation of rollers.

seriously though, i’d rock em if they were bigger =(
November 20th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
…haha…so cool. I think it´s a really good move to produce pro-gear for such a young buck. It´ll make rollerblading even a bit more interesting for kids as they might figure that practicing and bustin there joints could take em places.
Congrats Jojo! (…and yeah…maybe DomSeven deserves one, too)
November 20th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
future pro right there
November 20th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
I think that a kids skate is genius. Jo Jo is an outstanding young man who just has fun skating and really makes an impact whereever he goes. He plays hockey and rips it up at skate parks. He is the future as is all other KIDS who skate.

November 21st, 2009 at 8:35 pm
@poly…first off, yes, Wake Shepman is a great little skater. However, before you choose to put yourself out there with ignorant comments (like you did), you should consider the market that USD is trying to reach with this JR skate. Let me say it again, with this JR skate. And before we go too far above your head with terms you don’t understand, lets define market. A market is a specific population or age group USD is targeting this skate towards. Though Wake is a fantastic skater, he doesn’t fit the target audience this skate is geared toward. Given JoJo’s age, talent, personality, and ability to reach kids, he clearly defines what USD hopes to accomplish with this skate. In the future, please attempt to think and rationalize your thoughts before you speak, or in this case write.
Please only reflect upon this and don’t further subject the rest of us to your uneducated, and poor articulated thoughts. I assure that you’re over your head.
November 21st, 2009 at 10:55 pm
@JOEL
o so i see he is basically a billboard at campwoodward usd figure hey why not place a billboard right in campwoodward and help our sales, dont worry about who usd is trying to reach just understand the sport will go on with or with out jo-jo and you so from the bigger picture if i was a company and i wanted to reach the youth of skaters then id find where the main hub is and grab the first name that comes up in google who is popular in that scene and give him his own skates, funny thing im happy for jo jo just calling out the politics involved in this,
November 22nd, 2009 at 2:00 am
Poly,
once again, you’ve demonstrated through your seemingly incoherent, rambling thought process and your inability to form properly structured sentences that you are better off just remaining silent. As stated previously (I understand you need repetition to understand), JoJo is talent, personality, at is at an age where the target audience can identify with him because he is in their age group and he just loves to skate. Clearly this is more functional than a physical billboard as you describe. Your idea of what you would do is an exemplary example of why you don’t and will never be in charge of any company, in any industry. I challenge anyone to find the “main hub” of rollerbladers. Skates are sold all over the world, and there isn’t a single hub for kids of his age involved in the sport. Searching Google for the name that would pop up most is not at all a good market research strategy. Please go to your local bookstore to look up basic strategies, we don’t have that much space here. If you are happy for JoJo as you say, please respect him and his family by posting positive, and constructive messages.

From what I know of Jo Jo from attending AIL’s is he has no idea of any politics in the sport. That lil kid is always just skating and skating hard. He blows me away every time I attend an AIL event with how much better he gets in such short periods of time. He just turned 9 years old and can skate killer. He also is polite and encourages kids to skate and have fun.
Wake Shepman is killing it to but you can not compare the 2. First off there is a huge age gap and second Jr skates woudlnt fit Wake. You can not market a skate by naming it after a kid it will not even fit.
3rd… USD is smart by selecting that kid. His family does school tours around the world. Thats a direct market to sell the skate. I have seen footage of jo at these tour stops. The whole family pushes the sport to grow at a grass roots level.
Much respect to USD for supporting a generation that we need to push harder and much respect to the kid for representing the sport to the fullest for other kids getting into the sport. Never lose the fun of skating.

Congrats jojo keep skating. ill see ya this summer.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:35 am
what a baller, first pro skate at age 8/9, you need to get him on some national advertisements for kraft cheese or something, mega bucks and pay for his college
November 23rd, 2009 at 10:35 am
That kid will never get problems to skate 4 free anywhere just because of his father does … and now , a pro skate …
It’s fun to see that some of us knew the winter and the crooked wheels , … things that he shall never see.
That’s suck to support the ONLY mediatised kid( I mean under 10 yearsold) … does he actually deserve it ?
it’s my point of view but no …
January 3rd, 2010 at 1:21 am
he is that much young and he has that good style he’s gonna be a best skater when he grow up
