yea thats how the purple ones were to but hey you can always get some v cut cuffs for 30 bucks the sagona gold cuffs and like some white 2 piece souls on those they would turn heads so fast

the reason these are not v cut is they are marketed more as an entry level skate. beginners usually need more ankle support.
