Undercover 2010 wheels test, on Inmag

Our first encounter with Pro Undercover wheels was about year ago – thanks to TheConference and Przemek Madej, together with Basza and Petmen we got the chance to test new formula wheels which would have been the revolution in aggressive wheel manufacture.
Back than our impressions were really high but they didn’t last long – the urethane was superb, the grip was great and they were incredibly fast, yet after some time it turned out that the product wasn’t 100% perfect. The main problem was the core – we got feedback from many people who were disappointed too. After short venture with the most expensive wheels on the market, we got back to riding Eulogy.
During the summer`09 Przemek Madej was filming for his section in TheTrutnies DVD – TheConference hooked him up with the new version of the Pro Undercover wheels, which according to the producer eliminated the weak core problem. After 3 weeks of getting clips, finished with three huge gaps attempts together with Basza we checked closely Madej`s wheels – surprisingly the wheels held up very good, no decoring, no chunks – without hesitation I equipped my Valos with brand new set of Undercover – Demetrious George 09. if they tested that wheels, why they didn’t show us photos of used wheels?! maybe they have something to hide…is that hard to make a photo?

I absolutely love these wheels, my 1st pair were the blue Eisler’s. I have switched those around to three different skates & frames & it has already been over a year & I can’t get them to wear out past 54mm, no chunks, no de-core, no cracks & still going. mind you that I am around 200Lbs. Riding anti-rocker, finding a wheel that can hold my ass & last me past 6-10 good sessions was almost impossible for me. Well I got tired of the color so I decided to try out some Street Artist Bambrick’s and boy-o-boy was there a difference, star’s don’t crack nor they de-core (you can almost literally ride them down to the core, quickly!) they have great grip, but wear out super-duper fast (well on my heavy-ass they do) & felt 10x slower than my UC’s. Now I’m back on some black UC D.George Killa Bee’s & i’ve already had about 5 decent sessions on them & they feel really fast compare to star’s & real grippy in park compare to eulogy’s & the cool part is that I can still see the little rubber line all the way around down the middle of the wheels like if they were almost still new, showing minimal wear!!
Sorry for the long block of text, it’s just that there is no better wheel & I’m just excited :) they are definitely worth every single last penny of they’re expensive ass!! I rather spend $35 bucks maybe every half a year, than spend $26-28 bucks twice or more every half year….. Comprende Amigo?!?!

the reviews are actually making me excited about a wheel. i guess there really is a first time for anything. only thing im worried about is that because they are so grippy they might not be the best for flat skating, wheel bite is a big issue with the frames im riding but i guess that i will never know unless i try it out! 70 bux for wheels seems nuts but i may give it a go.

these wheels were great for about 2 weeks and they started to fall apart

long, but worth reading if you are on the fence about these wheels
ok, so i have been rolling undercover since they released the purple billy (fish) wheels and they are just now maybe 56 or 55 and i believe they were 57-58 when i bought them TWO YEARS AGO!!! the point is they are still great, and i still use the hell out of them, they have slight chunks and the core is slightly loose on one side of one of them (which they have definitely solved with the new cores) i know because i have since been riding the mint green jeph howards and the new black demetrious george wheels as well, (some of the fine points i have noticed over the time using this compound include the finest grip on earth, i can pump a corner as hard as i can and the wheels never even try to give.. street or park. also the compund is bouncy….just take your bearings out and bounce em off the ground….now do it with any other brand, the diff. is very noticeable. that bounce translates to a softer more shock absorbed landing. plus they have a PERFECT new core and great speed) basically i feel confident when i ride these and thats WHY i ride these, if you have not tried them do so on your next wheel purchase…..sure its 10 bucks more than other brands but superior quality matched with the fun colors make it worth it….and it is easily 10 bucks worth of extra quality and features, for example the new core is specifically designed and tested to hold up to the baddest bomb drops by the heaviest skaters………also i have never skated eulogy nor do i intend to now, not to offend any die hards out there but i convinced a beginner friend to buy eulogy and they lasted him barely a week of light shitty skating, i credit most of the ware to his terrible form but like i said….i’ve been going strong on one set of my undercovers for two years…no issues

They ARE really good, it’s true. Spun/poured in the states = better quality.

I agree, I only ride undercover now. And in 17 years of skating I pretty much
try them all.

Heck$ and Josh what is wrong with you!
January 15th, 2010 at 9:22 pm
I don’t know. I had some undercover wheels this summer and they really did not last too long. I was disappointed beyond belief. Hopefully this new mold or whatever they used is worth it.

I don’t understand why people like valo.I’ve tried them on .and he needs to make the cuff out of flexi plastic or hard rubber or something! I like xsjado deshi or remz.those skates don’t hurt.I not hatin. you should just take some of your money.or tell roces to make it.

January 16th, 2010 at 10:17 am
ok i know i totally went on a rant there for a minute, but i am just excited for companies like this who do something completley diff. and specialized to accommodate our needs and wants “color”………..and i think it needs mentioning that we are talking about the undercover pro wheel quality
i got some basic ass retard wheels from undercover when i bought the dominic yhrones….but i got 8 so whatever

@ Da Wheels – I was so desperate and almost gave in @ BIG 5 cause I didnt want to wait on shipping, but luckily an buddy hooked me up with some wheels.
From what ive heard UC has had some not some great qual stuff. Seen a set decore and a set chunk. Hopefully this steps up. I’m curious about their “park” formula.
