Ucon’s most creative trick competition

The easter egg competition just finished and we received over 200 emails. Thanks to all the participants for joining the competition. Our first winner of the Ucon competitions is Mark Sunter from the UK. He won the first complete Ucon outfit existing of trouser, shirt, sweater and cap. Congratulations!

You can be the next lucky winner if you join our creative trick competition. Rollerblading is not always about big stunts and the craziest switch up on a kink rail. The most important thing about rollerblading is having fun and doing something new and creative.

That’s the reason why we started the first “most creative trick” contest.

There are 3 things you have to note before thinking about your trick:

- drive fakie to the trick
- before, during or after your trick you have to spin a 360
- dress to impress (collect extra points with a creative outfit)

Please upload a small videofile to our youtube group.

As soon as the trick is up you have the chance to win all the Ucon stuff

If you haven’t subscribe to our video blog just click here.

On the 15th of may we will announce the winner.
Good luck.

Once more, it’s not about the biggest stunt, we search for some unique and different skating.
be creative.
Ucon.

I like the idea. Rule 1 and 2 are okay. But 3, “dress to impress” ? Please…

    muehehe! i have a special trick :-D

    dress to impress??
why not. I think the competition will be a lot of fun. We really hope to get some creative and new tricks.

    jochen

  5. Gyom Says:

great idea … let’s think about an impressive tricks

    Interesting concept.

I think the “rules” can only limit people’s creativity though, which is a real shame…..

Great idea overall. Rollin’ is sick as hell but I’m findin’ watchin’ most people’s profiles predictable now.

Full cab true switch top ***** down ***** stair rail multiplied by 35, divided by 4 random shots of person posing/rapping/smoking cigarette to the power of Eisenburg squared=profile.

    ……..XD

  7. Old and Bitter Says:

Rules limit creativity ? Maybe. Maybe not. This is an “exercice de style”.

But still, the “dress to impress” rule… It has nothing to do with the trick itself. Maybe with the spot, like Guyont’s pic on the red/white ledge, dressed red & white ?

But still… Jochen, your skating is full of creativity, but the way you dress has nothing to do with it.

god this is so cool! i’d love to enter, i’ll start thinking about shit to do. the rules are really good, that will add some structure to the competition that otherwise would be complete chaos and very hard to judge. besides, it ups the level of skill requiered to participate. awesome idea. props to UCON!

This is a cool idea BUT how many people can win? only 1 ? I thought i had the egg hunt no problem but I lost it sucks! I had those damn 5 eggs before anyone! No chance u can be the one in a million to win this contest…. ha good luck but its a good idea i guess to get people skating more!!!!!!! see ya!

    Fantastic idea jochen!
Looking forward to seeing the outcome, and the best of the best.
And i hardly agree that having rules limits the creativity, if anything it opens a new door to something different. Dress to impress!

“Rollerblading is not always about big stunts and the craziest switch up on a kink rail. The most important thing about rollerblading is having fun and doing something new and creative.”

I agree with the first part of the paragraph, about rollerblading not always being about hucking yourself to some crazy shit and getting hurt, and rollerblading being all about fun.

The second part I don’t agree with as much, don’t tell people what’s important about rollerblading, take Carlos Pianowski for example, guy does certain tricks on insane drop rails and hammer ledges, he is amazing, he brings new tricks to the sport that no one else can do, or dares to do for that matter, he IS new, he IS creative, his tricks stand out.

Rolling is about improving yourself, always pushing harder, creativety is about pushing the bounderies, seeing what else can be done, sometimes IT IS a switchup on a kink rail, sometimes it IS some toe roll on some rolling( very rarely though, haha), everyone do different things with rollerblading, shits fresh.

But other then that, great contest and I’m looking forward to seeing who is going to be the lucky winner :)

  12. Jake Says:

Oh yeah, and the “dress to impress” thing is quite ridiculous if you think about it.

You go around saying how rollerblading is about being “new” and creative, what’s so new about trying to wear the most attention seeking outfit? everyone do it.. with all the silly little ties and fancy shirts and skin tight girls jeans, it gets kinda old fashioned, don’tcha think?

The clothes don’t make a trick better, forget about that, you can wear whatever you want, and do as many toe rolls and small shit as you want, that won’t make you special, new, creative, newschoo, whatever the fuck you wanna call it. Hard shit and advanced shit is difficult, and has it’s injuries and scary parts, if you can’t handle it then bitch out! but don’t go wearing tight jeans and trying to say you are better than the other people hucking themselves at huge shit just because you don’t have the balls to do so.

    !

nothing like saying “Be Creative!”….then giving guidelines and rules of what MUST be done…great concept…not so great execution.
