  7. killgore Says:

no our industry isnt…. whcih is why this edit happend.

instead of us waiting a year to put out the videos… i’d rather upload them after trips and have more footage.

without selling DVD’s fo $20….. the only way to do it is have donations from the FREE stuff.

it does cost money to make them…..without money coming in from DVD sales where does the budget come from smartass?

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO WATCHED AND ENJOYED IT THOUGH.

  12. killgore Says:

yea you’re right it doesnt cost money.. we didnt drive down the coast of america and back for 2 weeks.. that didnt take any gas. we didnt have to buy tapes… we didnt have to eat food. we didnt have to do anything that cost money..

    YOU ARE RIGHT.

why am i so stupid. sheesh.

  13. killgore Says:

haha wojda, koliner, schmidt, trebach, ogger, avi, rossanthony…..the list goes on.

  16. luke-sky@gmx.de Says:

Is that a new boot on jonjon´s and montre´s feet? I don´t think it´s either the shima 1 oder 2 (and def not the le´s). I know the soulplates have different colours but the boot looks slimmer than my shima v2s….any guesses?

  17. killgore Says:

    v2 with new souls……

  18. RZA Says:

the new NIMH souls look dope

  19. alf Says:

    thanks for watching everyone !

  20. Gigi Says:

HAHA Donating, thats was a nice joke!

Damn Killgore was such a good skater a few years ago, what happened? why did he turn so fat? Did he just say he needs money because “we didnt have to eat food”?

Jon Jon and Livingston, Future of rollerblading and leaders of Denial (I didn’t even known it still exists …)? I Totally agree.

    > How do you dare asking money like this? this is a fucking shame seriously.
It’s like: I’m going on holidays with friends this summer, so You guys give me money for me to eat, to skate, to sleep, and for my car, then I ill bring back a small edit of it…No, seriously, this a shame!<

  21. whatthe Says:

seriously, i dont understand the amount of hating a normal post gets. but this donating thing is really strange. every other rollerblader skates and does edits for the fun and love. i have never heard any other skater ask for money for “tapes and gas”. i mean you make an edit either for your own pleasure, or for your very own propagation. if you cant make an edit without someone paying your tapes, you should probably stop doing them.

  22. killgore Says:

you obviously didnt read. have you ever made a actual DVD? it isnt cheap. tours cost money. we went on a tour…. we aren’t selling DVD’s to make the budget for the tour.. its a DONATION.. we’re not forcing you to do shit.

did you watch it? did you donate? OK….so you just wasted time from your life to post some bullshit and talk shit about something you didnt even HAVE to do.

1st….u didnt have to watch this.
2nd. u didnt have to donate.
3rd.. u posted about it haha…. fuckin goombas.

we do edits for fun and love too… i dunno if you’ve seen the denialtv vimeo page. or my personal vimeo page. check em out you’ll see. but they arent 25 min long projects. they are simple shit.

again you DONT HAVE TO DONATE ANYTHING ITS A FREE VIDEO…. to keep doing free videos donations are needed because we’re not spending $500+ just for fun…. thats not how a business works.

    and yes…..this is a business.

  23. MB Says:

    Killgore,

I appreciate the free videos, but there are few questions I have to ask. You are saying that you are producing “simple shit” when describing your edits. Then, you say that you are running a business. This really makes wonder what kind of business you are running. It’s not fair for you to say you are putting out shit and then mention that you are running a business. I don’t know of many companies that openly admit that they producing “simple shit” while asking for donations.

  24. Big Perm Says:

    BOOOOORRRRRINNNNNGGGGGGGGG

  25. Winston Says:

Obviously is hes saying its simple shit hes saving the hammers for the video they are working on.

Donations are a good idea since everyone in rollerblading is a critic (atleast on rollernews), so by donating youll actually have room to bitch about the final product since u put money into it aswell.

  26. romy dom Says:

shit was ill montre is a beast on blades. haha yea fuckin critics, i don’t even read their comments any more

  27. killgore Says:

    what winston said…

simple shit i meant the old edits were “leftovers” of trips where the hammers/good tricks were saved for DVD videos.

myself… i feel instead of waiting a year and only having a SMALL portion of the audience enjoy the video because they HAVE to buy it to see it for the most part….we can put the everything online that we gathered from each trip… you the viewers dont have to wait so long to see the hottest shit… and we can do it because the loyal fan base will donate and support to make it happen.

WHEN YOU DONT SELL DVD’S… YOU DONT HAVE A BUDGET FOR THE DVD’S/EDITS/TRIPS…..

instead of charging $20 you get to view it for FREE and if you liked it… feel free to donate a lil to keep them possible.

If you didnt… thanks for watching and maybe you’ll like it next time.

We have gotten over 5k views in 1 day almost… thats damn near impossible to get 5k people to see a hardcopy DVD.. most DVD’s are sellin 1000-2000 TOPS and they arent selling out. most people still got copies chillin…hundreds of them.

NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO DONATE…. its something the people can do who enjoy it and would like to see more… FOR A FRACTION OF WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE CHARGING.

thats about it i think…. hopefully some of you understand where we are coming from..

EITHER WAY THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO WATCHED AND HELPED SPREAD THE WORD/LINK ABOUT THE VIDEO.

  28. dope Says:

its so good to see oldschool guys like jon ortiz skating… sick clips man i really liked it….well done killgore!!

  29. resuk Says:

I really really enjoyed watching that!!! all of it!

  30. Ha Says:

That was amazing. So many ill skaters from that region riding Nimhs. That was practically a Nimh Video.

  31. MB Says:

I hear you. But I just can’t see why you call your edits simple shit. And, thank you for taking the time to talk to people on rollernews. At least you aren’t too self absorbed to take to time to reply to post. Jon Jon and Montre are certainly some of the best to watch right now. I would def buy a dvd with skating like that, but I would not donate for edits. That is how I look at it. Maybe purchasing the dvd’s puts me in the minority.

  32. why? Says:

I don’t understand why people are hating on this. The woodward part was a bit slow but it flowed well. Maybe the kiddies are hating because it wasn’t full of terrible emo rock and guys in girl stretch pants. The guys in this edit had the most style that I have seen in a long time. I think Killgore is trying to bring that aspect of skating back into our sport by sponsoring these guys. It is a solid team, more solid than some boot companies.

  33. Judo Kick Says:

Cool arguement. I’m not gonna donate cause that was boring as fuck. Sucks you are acting like thats a real video, worst filming, long ass boring fuckin pow wow section, montre skating the same fucking rail as always….I wouldn’t donate a moldy bread heel to that cause. and for the record i’m posting because its the only joy I’ll get as a result of the terrible decision I made 28 minutes ago.

  34. adam johnson Says:

dang killgore, so much hate. I wonder how much they will hate the Vibralux online video when it drops. That footage is 14 months old and shit…

    oh well. rollernews eh.

  35. Gigi Says:

Ok I won’t waste more time on this shit.
You can think that i’m a hater or whatever, I still think that asking money for an edit made with some friends on tour in a shame.

Adam, Don’t worry, old footage doesn’t make bad videos.

Tell us if Killgore gets at least 100$, so I will start asking people to pay for edits as a Bastard.

  36. Rusty Says:

I like this edit alot, great skating, good music. The denail team is sick I dont know why there would any hate towards a free online video.

  37. killgore Says:

start asking…. we got over 100.

    next video will start soon.

  38. why? Says:

Vx will get donations because they support ugly girl stretch pant wearing, child molester looking guys. But that is what the groms want today, to be but fucked by a pro.

  39. Yay Haters!!! Says:

    ^^^^^^^^^^^
yea this seems to be true… im soo sick of these angrogeneous little child molester lookin fools, doing corny spin tricks and switches with ABSLOLUTELY NO STYLE, stop following these guys groms!!!! how about learning to actually roll first b4 trying things you shouldnt be doing yet… this video was FULL of natural swag.. i could watch jon ortiz just do airs and soul grinds all day long b4 watching the puke i see all the time. granted the shit these guy-girls are doing these days is very technical, but looks pitiful cuz theres no flare in it, just looks like rolling spandex jean gymnastics.. and as for gigi, nobody asked you for anything, its called “donation”… say it with me…. d-o-n-a-t-i-o-n. If i didnt like it, i wouldnt come here and hate on it, i’d just suggest they do better next time. but i dont need to cause they did incredible for what it is, well rounded skating from the young and old…. i support.

  40. Yay Haters!!! Says:

btw, montre, jonjon, max b. & tim taylor – holy shit, swag central… and props to jon ortiz, skating since b4 the dinosaurs, looking fucking incredible still.. do u guys even know about him? who else still skates from WAY back then… not too many at all im sure

  41. killgore Says:

Jon Ortiz skates almost everyday as well. hes spreading blading to the youth of NYC thru afterschool programs and thats his job. hes blading for life for real… 16+ years hes been on it.

    true OG.

  42. abel Says:

Well i for one am truly thankful for the video and i though it showcased some of the best talent in rollerblading today. I have always liked the Denial brand, and i understand what kilgore is saying as i only picked up the denial video like 2 months ago for like 5 bucks.

I would rather just pay denial the 5 bucks and see the footage immediately, so please keep releasing these videos and i will definitely donate money. And to those who say montre and jon jon are the only good people on the denial team, please watch the last denial video it will definitely silence the haters.

  43. Jonathan Says:

I never reply to these threads because it’s predominantly responded to by teens. I’ve been rolling 11 years now – from 14 to 25 presently. I’ve been around long enough to have known companies like panasonic, slim jim, yoohoo, and kelloggs supporting skate competitions. I remember busing it 2 hours to venice beach just to fry in the sun to see NISS competitions. Waking up early to record ASA competitions on fox (or was it espn?).

I also remember being incredibly broke, spending all my money to buy skates and magazines (incidentally I found some daily bread, dna, and box magazines in my closet yesterday), always waiting for my favorite shirts to drop in price, and collecting 2 dollars amongst 4-6 friends just to buy water and maybe food. That was rollerblading in my teens. So I understand there isn’t much money in that age range. Or in our current global economy for that matter. And yet, I see kids blow tons of money on custom skates, this and that color laces and cuffs, wearing this season’s skate apparel, new ipod, whatever. You’ll complain about donating money to a skater-run company, but you’ll gladly fork over your money to something utterly stupid. How about show some appreciation to an older group of rollerbladers who want to give back to the community. We certainly don’t have anyone else but ourselves right now. So why the divide?

Adam Killgore didn’t put a gun to your head and demand you donate. He asked if you can help Denial. Help. As in provide assistance. As in Aid. Which is voluntary and of your own freewill. I know when I get paid next week, I’ll donate some money. And believe me, I don’t make much. But I believe rollerblading needs all the support it can get. And guess what boys and girls? That support comes from the rollerblader community. No one else. If you can’t understand that, maybe you aren’t cut out to be a rollerblader. Maybe not at this point in time because you just don’t get it.

I love rollerblading as much so a girlfriend. I take 2-4 times a week out of my week to skate. I put way more money into it than I should. A lot of my life ties into it. My interests in photography arose in part due to rollerblading. I owe my job working for a public relations firm because of my need to want to shoot photos, and thus document sessions with my friends. I bought my first car last year not because I needed to get to work (I had the bus) but because my friend who was our driver was moving an hour away. At the end of the day, rollerblading is a cause, a lifestyle, something worth fighting for.

But you brats want to complain because you’re the gimme culture. Gimme this, gimme that – I shouldn’t have to give anything in return. Time to grow up. You have these older rollerbladers who are trying to lead us to greener pastures. They don’t have to do anything for you, but they do. You got a free video. How cool is that? You don’t like the skaters. Don’t watch it. You don’t want to donate. Don’t donate. But you shouldn’t be a brat and complain. I’m too old for senseless teen whining. That’s why I never respond to message boards. It’s a bunch of teens with such a black and white conception of the world.

Kids, in the end you’ll find it doesn’t matter someone wears tight or baggy pants, skates to hip hop or rock, picks one skate over another, or whatever your gripe is. It’s about rollerblading as a whole. We are a community. Life’s too short to hate on such petty things.

To Adam, thanks for posting the video. Certainly made my night after I got in from an awful day at work. Forced my buddy to skate with me the next morning. You should be receiving a donation from me at the end of next week. lol. Keep up the fine job!

  44. killgore Says:

thank you so much. that was well put and i feel you 100%…….

damn i miss them old niss/asa days… i did the same thing to the ones in Philly and NYC just to watch them blade haha… so much fun.

thanks to anyone who watched it.

    there will be another coming.

  45. Scott Wilcoxson Says:

Montre and Bolino are monsters! Props to Tim for some nice lines. Mad Respect to Jon Ortiz for still steezin it out, just like that silver square 20 stair I saw you backslide with k2 fatty no gap flat set up back in 97 in Brooklyn!

  46. MB Says:

Everyone talks about getting rollerblading back to where it was. All I hear about is getting back to the days of ASA and X-Games when rollerblading had the “big stage” for the time slot it was on. Call this thread goofy and call this response retarded, but I have been thinking about this thread quite a bit lately. Adam, I see the double bind that you are put in. Produce a dvd that you will lose your ass on, or do fun edits and try to collect donations to keep it going. But, the donation bit will get you ragged on for asking for donations. Unfortunately, this post is all just a manifestation of society in the sense that you need to be a big, powerful, super marketing machine that takes advantage of consumers to make a profit. And, ultimately, rollerblading is strong right now because it has companies (for the most part) who do not just simply market bullshit; there are a lot trying to honestly get by on love of something. It is like people do not respect something unless a company rapes them over. So, with this said, you have a donation from me for $5.00. I know it is not going to make you rich, but at least I am man enough to actually think about the things that I said and support something that I know I should be supporting. All the best.

  47. MB Says:

I just donated money. So, say you would like. Adam, keep the edits coming. The rest of you, support our tightly knitted industry in the way you can. But, how about we try not to support slim jim, mountain dew, taco bell, and whatever other ass hole corporate sponsors we had from 96-2000. That’s my piece on this whole thing…

  48. killgore Says:

you are missing the point if you think we are PROFITING off this..

every dollar that gets donated is going back to making more… if we somehow miraculously make $1000 or more.. i’ll pay the skaters… something that doesnt happen….for them to blade in the film..i’ll try to pay for their food as well on the tours..

this isnt a … ohh help us we need money to survive and profit….

its a donate to make more videos possible like this… otherwise you’ll be back to waiting year +… if we were to even choose to invest money into that.

DONATE……not YOU HAVE TO GIVE ME.

profits will not be made off the donations.. its directly all going back to making another FREE online download video.

  49. MB Says:

I do not think you are profiting off of this. I would be pretty amazed to see someone pull in a profit off of donations. And, as I said, I am doing this to support something that I believe in. I know I am not giving you a profit, but anyone who has made a donation certainly has helped you survive. I have completely misunderstood something if you do not need the donations to help you get by. I aimed to help you get part of a meal, something to drink, or some gas on your next tour. That’s it. I am done with this.

“yea you’re right it doesnt cost money.. we didnt drive down the coast of america and back for 2 weeks.. that didnt take any gas. we didnt have to buy tapes… we didnt have to eat food. we didnt have to do anything that cost money..”

  50. killgore Says:

It helps 100% if we were to keep doing these…because we arent selling DVD’s to create the budget…its a test right now and so far its working well. This could be better for everyone.

Essentially the ones donating are the ones who would buy it….

If the donations didnt work out well… the company would still do fine.. we wouldnt be hurting at all. we would go back to putting the leftover online and saving the bangers for DVD sales to create the budgets and way to get the $$ invested back.

The dvd’s/touring/traveling comes from DVD sales alone pretty much.. we dont spend to much from the other budgets on that… so we dont NEED the donations unless people would rather see it FREE and help us make that happen.

i thank you for the donation… it will help feed, fuel and keep the tours going. It wont be used for Tshirts, wallets, keychains, jeans or any other products we are working on..thats what i was talking about. It strictly goes back to making more FREE videos.

  51. Jonathan Says:

I wasn’t suggesting we support the sponsors we used to have. I was just making the point that there was corporate sponsorship, that the money to make things happen within our sport was there without much hesitation. But I say this not having known the business of the late 90s and early 2000 era.

I stated these sponsors because I’m old enough to remember them and know that rollerblading had support from external sources. These days, it’s us, and us alone. There’s hardly any money in this sport. A skateboarder can go pro and make 80k a year. A pro rollerblader is lucky to see a couple hundred. I remember I ran into Reineer at a park and I think he mentioned he made 50-60 dollars for a year’s worth of frame sales. Gonzo in some video said he made 300 in a year. That’s it? People are doing this sport out of passion, out of love, especially with that sort of money involved. This in contrast to Aaron Feinberg winning 10-30k during the ASA competitions 10 years ago.

This is why I say we have ourselves to support us. You want to see more products, put more money back into the thing you love. Yes, it’s cost prohibitive at times, but would you rather see old navy and kmart with your money or Vibralux and Denial? In all fairness, I’m a short, thin guy so finding anything to fit me is incredibly hard, even harder within rollerblading. Had to stop buying Heat shirts because their sizes mysteriously started to add a few more inches – small was more like a medium. But I digress.

And Adam, thanks for responding back! Glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. Yeah, I don’t regret going out to the Niss competitions for 3 days and looking like a burnt pop tart. It was part of the funnest times of my youth. Being in the back of the bus with my friends, singing twisted sister’s we’re not gonna take it because we had all watched Fast Shoes before we left for Niss. lol. Those were the days.

Hey if you’re ever on the west coast, I’m offering you a damn nice portrait photo!

  52. Scott Wilcoxson Says:

Hell yeah! I just donated $10 Adam, so keep on doing what your doing and someone buy John a beer for me! If I dont see you sooner, I’ll see you at BCSD10, I will be the paramedic at your service!

  53. Jhaine062 Says:

wow , after this polemic , Montre and Jon Jon are still rocking it !
