  2. Justin Bailey Says:

Good god was that! Haven’t seen vert skating in a while, such as good edit. Nice inverts!

  3. kirk Says:

that was amazing @nathan that makes me want to skate a park too! i didnt think he was as good as that but oh boy oh boy he is! that had everything i like in an edit lots of park, amazing switups, spins and flips some street and woodward!!! and not forgetting them 360 fish grinds the were sweeeeeeeet!!!

  4. kirk Says:

sometimes you get edit which are just street and i find them a bit boring too watch

  5. pdub Says:

woah that reminds me of Matt Salerno, kills it on everything!!!!!! return of the classic skater!!!!!

  6. felix Says:

    enojoyed every second..variety!!!
he really killed everything on a very high level! how old is he now, on the scene forever?!

@pdub, matt salerno was amazing where is he now?

  7. skate2create Says:

  8. damn Says:

@Justin Bailey: there was not a single invert in this edit.

    … great skating.

  9. pdub Says:

@felix last i heard he was doing high end real estate in Sydneys north shore in Australia, hes actually sorta fat now too hahaha still kills it tho whenever he puts on the boots (which is SUPER rare)

  10. old Says:

There was an internal ASA petition sent out to all ASA judging staff back in 2000 basically begging to let this guy into the finals because he failed to qualify on his own. He couldn’t cut it then. NOw he has the tricks but he lacks that extra finesse. How do guys like this get sponsors?

  11. Bob_Sled Says:

    This dude’s awesome

  12. Brandon Says:

Thumper Nagasako used to be amazing before and now he still is,i watched him do that 900 on that hip ramp

  13. older than old Says:

    @old
at least he goes for hard tricks, i get tired of seeing pros do easy tricks just so they can be in complete control of their “style.” sometimes you have to go big, even if you’re not sure if (or how) you’ll land. like maybe people wouldn’t jock [insert name of trendy skater here] so much if they saw him make a 900 look hard, instead of making a 540 look easy, ya know?
i also enjoy the fact that thumper is his own skater, he’s not following anyone else’s trends, like so many groupies and wannabes today. it’s SOOOO refreshing and i think it gets at the OG meaning of what it is to be a rollerblader (something that has gotten lost or forgotten since 2000!)!! and while he doesn’t have franky style (who does?), i still find his skating very enjoyable to watch.

  14. older than old Says:

oh, and i love the smile! if you’re not having fun and you’re not smiling, you are taking yourself as a rollerblader WAY too seriously

  15. jeff dalnas Says:

    amazing thumper

  16. Darek Says:

one of the most ridiculously skilled skaters i have ever seen in my life kills everything

  17. Adam Says:

I hate to be “that guy” but jeez, a lot of those tricks were kinda sloppy. Some sick airs and vert skating but for someone that frequents woodward, you should get your steez down…

He completely missed the 540 tta, some switchups weren’t locked either. Did they not watch these clips before throwing them into a razors edit? haha.

  18. Joey Says:

    Thumper, awesome job.

This is the way a skater / edits should be, well rounded in everything.

    Everyone go visit http://www.highrollaz.org

  19. Alex Miranda Says:

that was sweet! like the kush i’m blowin.
hells muthafuckinya. He skate’s all terrain.
ya he didnt lock some shit. that coulda been left out.
but who cares its an online edit. That was refreshing
to see so much versatility. PROPS HOMIE

  20. danny beer Says:

    sick man!!! great skater

  21. Justin Bailey Says:

    @pdub Good comparison man.

  22. Justin Bailey Says:

    @ damn

By inverts I meant fliparoos and doodads. Not hand plants. I know, I know proper terminology.

  23. www.myspace.com/djwrekshopmusic Says:

Thumper is a straight up killer!!! Murdering everything in sight. rails, ledges, halfpipes, wallrides. Anybody hating on this is a straight up insecure pussy.

  24. Fred Castro Says:

Absolutely lovely, as you can see, some of us get better with age! to all you 16 year old suckaaassssss!!!! haha!!

    regards!

    Fred

  25. portas Says:

wow. that was sik. Really looks like his own man and in an industry full of sheep that is refreshing

  26. Jan Says:

Really sick skating! Its very rare for skaters this days to skate everthing they get under there wheels. Don´t care if its vert, street or park.
But always when I see Thumpers skating i think”Wow, what a trick, but could you please do it again with style and a proper landing!?”
This is not meant to understand as hating or flaming around.

  27. Azur Says:

So people are not fully content with a man that has achieved so much progression and they still find something to say about how Thumper Nagasako has a style that does not respond to the stereotyped canons of todays skating trends.
Well, I´d take that as a very good compliment!
One must add on the fact that in an environment like woodward is so easy too pick influences from other skaters, including style. So here we have man that is still very much himself and its so obvious that it shocks the viewer, what a great achievement!
Ever heard of that “be yourself” ethos to life?
Aw they turned that into a trend too ;)

  28. Thumper Says:

Thanks for the kind words everyone and the constructive feedback.

@old that’s completely not true. I only competed in the ASA Am circuit in 1999 & 02. In 1999 I qualified for finals in Florida. In 2002 I won the am vert world championships. why would I have a need to petition? don’t make statements that are completely false.

  29. old Says:

not false. wish i saved that email

  30. Rob C Says:

So, I was drinking with Thumper one night and I told him that he was the Tim Ward of the new millennium, and then he said “Yea, but Tim Ward couldn’t do 1080′s.” Thumper is fucking ill, great person and a great skater, and also very good at filming weddings!

  31. akari Says:

YES THUMPER is MAUI BUILT! FAKAWAT! Rob C. is a bitch that moved to Alaska. Hhahah.. That guy left Hawaii and now we are another rollerblader short. Yo when you comming back? Thumper is will be back next week and we gonna kill shit.

    SHOOOTSZ

  32. ninja9 Says:

oh hell yeh, really enjoyed that, probably the best edit I’ve seen on Rollernews or for the year. I remember this guy from I dont remember when. incredible, amazing vert skating, reminded me of what rollerblading is. On his grinds he doesnt look completely controlled maybe a tiny bit stiff like an older skater or someone who hasnt skated for a while, but it doesnt matter and it doesnt neccesarily mean he’s not controlled or a bit stiff, could be a part of his style or maybe it just looks like that to me

  33. Niger Says:

thumper is nice, none of you could out skate him or it would be you we are watching so shut the fuck up

  34. Gonzalo Says:

This is what real pros used to be made of. Able to skate everything. Props!

  35. 24sk8r Says:

Saw this dude win the Am Championships for vert. Now he skates everything. A real inspiration that it’s all about rolling, not about being a one-trick pony.

  36. Neil Says:

    really inspired!

  37. pom Says:

that was damn nice! fuckin great tricks! yeah the landings were a little sloppy but it was all hammers and i thoroughly enjoyed the edit.

  38. felix Says:

    @pdub
thanks a lot for the info, cool he puts on his skates from time to time :-).

  39. keir Says:

talk about versatile??? this is one of the most vaired sections i have ever seen!

Thumper is there anything you can’t skate?

so much variety, one of the most ‘anything goes’ bladers i have ever seen!

massive vert flatspins and 360 top acid down a rail should not even go in the same sentence.

  40. Thumper Says:

@old you must have me confused with some one else.

  41. deubeul Says:

thumper, may i ask how old are you?

  42. old Says:

lol the email had the title: “Thumper’s petition”

I only remember it because my entire judging staff made jokes about it for months on end.

  43. Joseph Says:

    Great section!

Old: You’re anonymous because you don’t want to reveal your name. Why one may ask. However, Thumper Nagasako clearly didn’t skate ASA that year so what you’re saying can’t be true. Also it’s a very uncouth thing to do, spreading rumours that are completely irrelevant.

  44. Only 109 friggin GBP Says:

“i get tired of seeing pros do easy tricks just so they can be in complete control of their “style.”

    You’re n idiot.

  45. bagozzi Says:

if that was all one guy im pretty impressed

  46. Azur Says:

    Hey Old!
You must be a great person, right?
have you grown that right wing moustache yet?

  47. Solossuck Says:

    what’s a right wing moustache?

  48. Anthony Luna Says:

    {ROLLERBLADING}

  49. pete w Says:

    @old:
whether youre telling the truth or not, nobody likes you either way
