5 days is not enough time to film a solid section. Most of the quality sections I’ve seen were an accumulation of months of photage.

i dont usually comment.. but that was pretty shit. firstly the song, good song but definately doesnt suit this skating. the dudes got good style (not clothing.. but each to their own) and really good skills, but im so sick of the lack of creativity and originality in skating. he is just another pleb in the skating world, just going with the trends, same old shitty bank to rail, same old wanna be farmer or broskow tricks.. please please please skating is dying because skaters seriously have identity issues.

5 days to film a FULL section you cunts. Did you not read the description? Dude took a nasty fall and fought through it to try and come up with something different.
Brett is still as incredible as he has ever been, and wants to skate different obsticles and improve his skating all around instead of putting out the same tricks every year.
He could have just as easily hit the same spots that everyone else was sessioning, but chose to try and stand out.

“instead if putting out the same tricks every year”. he always has aotopsouls in his sections always, in fact the only reason i think he’s sponsered is because of a few good aotopsouls he did a few years back. dont get me wrong i think he’s a sick but his edits suck balls. skateboarders wouldnt be bothered with a lot of the spots he skated. im all for different skating. but im more interested in good skating, and if he was to injured to make a proper edit then why bother. makes the sport look like crap. and that roll in 360 gap bullshit looked like something u try and build up courage to do the first day you start skating, not what a sponsered skater can do. im just hating on this edit, brett is well capable of putting out good stuff.

What Brett do is maybe hard but it don’t look hard and so it don’t look beautiful too… I think there is 2 things really important is the creativity of your tricks and or how it looks, there it just seems like he have found a “thing” (riding the underledge) and he do it over and over with variations on the tricks.
I can’t imagine how skaters and bikers may laught if they see that edit…

Holy shit everyone needs to watch that snowboarding link that was just posted above. So many of those roof rail gaps can be done on blades.
The sport has gone soft today but there are a few out there that will take this shit into the next phase.
BTW, wack edit. Spandex and baggy tees died in the 80s. let it rest in peace.

Not that it matters, but I may was well comment.
I liked this section, breaking your glasses fucking blows. Can’t imagine on a trip.i thought that was incredible for 5 days. And the ended was an ended for an edit filmed in 6 months. He did everything correctly and performed well.

Problem is the tricks, though imaginative, sucked balls in most cases,
that whole section could have been in one day how many days do you need to skate the under support of a rail.
if he’s skating under rails at least do a chocolate jeez,
Every rail he approached i just new he wasnt going to grind the top of it….
plus, it’s not so original anymore being that every edit in the run up to this has him doing the same under rail ticks, it was cool for about a day. maybe one clip in a section would be nice but not a full section.
That sweaty at the end was danger as fuck though gotta give him that.

What is wrong with grinding the top of a rail? We used to grind the underside when we were grommets. Not to sure about this. Looks pretty shit. And Also someone paid for a flight so you could film doing it? I don’t want to put the skater down as its not it’s fault but what has happened to blading sections? Maybe I’m too old school to notice the progression but skating seems to be going backwards.

it makes rollerblading look absolutely terrible. I am not some random hater, I am a real person, who calls it like I see it. I have no sympathy for you recently getting hurt. If that really was the case, you should have takin a few more weeks off and put together a 2 minute edit. not this shit. the tank top clips are just god awful, it looks like your wearing a women’s blouse, its almost falling off your shoulders. I know that you “brett” are going to come across this seeing that you seem to be the kind of guy who really cares about what other people say, and i hope that you take this as someone helping you out.
You are not original, your skating is not “cool”, and you dont look good doing it, and as stated before, you are making all rollerbladers look bad.

Please try and prescreen these videos before putting them up on the front page. If you think that people are ‘actually going to like it then put it up.

to concerned rollerblader, just because u dont like this section or bretts style does not mean his skating is not “cool” or others dont enjoy it. people like u and 80 percent of the rollernews commnity is the reason why so many people quit blading each year. you say his shit isnt different and original, but since its not the norm of blading doesnt that make it different? hes doing what he wants to do and blading what he wants to blade in my opinion that makes him pretty original. people like brett (even tho very different) is what makes rollerblading different then any other sport out there and that is what appeals to me about blading.
