The Original Remedyz Skates (1997)

The Original Remedyz Skates

The white Remedyz were made in 97, but they were made for people to test and grommets like me to loath. They were originally distributed by O.U.T. (Once Upon a Time) by vert legend skater Toto Ghali and Kato in France. 98 was the release of the black with red detailing and was released to the general public. Kato himself distributed the skates himself along with the infamous Bryan Bell and Bryan Jaggers in San Diego.

It was the first time I would meet them and they would treat me like family. There I met many other people like Chris Haffey, Mike Leaf, Kevin Smith, Damien Wilson, Nick Wood, Dawn Everett (when she was living there at the time), Jon Elliott, and a slew of others. The skates came with the first fifty/50 frames, but with a weak cuff support and paper insoles, which was easily corrected with a Spensco insole.

Exclusivestm posted an article on the original remz skates. Link

Brings back the good memories ; i had a pair that i loved too :

    yeahhhhh yoooooooo
i used to have those remz
the only problem is you have to break in the groove in yourself and it doesnt have the same grooves we have today
and you cant switch the frames

  4. Jon MacKinnon Says:

i remember them!! they were soooo sick, but really hard to get hold of here in the UK

  5. qcsky Says:

i would die to get my hands on a pair

  6. switch_technique Says:

yeah, these skates are the ones which i was impressed as hell back in the days, i would cum for these

why REMZ won’t out skates with just simple leather skin nowadays?? the truth is, that the old ones looks much much better than new ones, really, black shell, white leather skin + red insets, if they out model like that i would buy two pairs at once.

Remz kick ass!!! im still rolling on my Remz 03′s LE dyed black! Remz are really sick and long lasting. keep on rollin

  8. xsjado rollin Says:

they need to make a limited run of these…make your trace your foot on paper then send them to kato to determine your size like you had to back in the day and then wait from them to come in the mail with a bright yellow shirt……..these skates will never be topped.

I have to agree with everyone else. Even though I love how our technology has progressed, I would love to go oldschool in those badboys. They are still hotfire by todays standards. I would take those over a pair franki morales’s any day.

  12. Andrew Says:

they look ok but i bet they skate like shit

  13. nice Says:

    nice looking ones.
I think remz might make the skin “fake” nowdays because some peoples don’t like to have real leather, or the artificial one has its benefits like it might keep cleaner who knows I don’t but I like that its fake skin.

I agree what been said before these looks better than current remz out there:)
    They simple but cute.
