yea ok, its limited so it has that essence of exclusiveness as not many people will have it, but the companies dont help themselves as they can make much more money to invest in future projects etc.

i do agree with the idea of limited stuff, every so often. its a good way to promote the company, create some hype etc. but one company, franco shade, everything released from them is limited. they have taken on the pre-order concept, but not totally. as soon as its sold, its not available again. in my opinion, that is poor. if they are marketing themselves as a company who just creates limited edition run clothing, then fine, but how far do they expect to get? if they expect to go anywhere with it. they produce some amazing clothing and they are highly known and respected as far as im aware but they need to start leaning towards producing for a wider audience in my opinion.

there is a lot of talk about how the companies represent rolling, but to me, they are only repping locally. not globally. these companies know how to create extreme hype. but they do not market worldwide even when we all know they can probably all easily do it, by using the sort of system i’ve mentioned above or something even better.
but we need a happy medium for damn sure.

they should take pre-orders. get an idea of numbers and produce in batches and ship out. as the orders stop, then stop producing. over producing is just as bad as under producing.

pre ordering is no different from ordering. your just able to order it from an earlier date. it doesn’t mean you stand any better chance of owning something. the people who would normally be there first ordering and now the people there first pre ordering.
pre ordering should be used in sense how i’ve described it. produce for everyone, efficiently.

thats what i mean about pre order. the product may cost a lot to make. so, you make a prototype, post it up on your site, and get people pre-ordering, giving money up front. if they have a mental amount of people want the product, they can go ahead and get producing. if no one is interested, they can reimburse the money to you. this requires the company to be very responsible and be trustworthy. that way they’ll be able to have more than 200 made. they’ll be using less if any money at all from their own pockets (hoping people will buy the products so they can make the money back) but actually using the profit from the money that people are paying upfront instead.
