From everything I’ve heard, read and seen it seemed like Xsjado “fixed” all the little things I disliked about the original Xsjados with the 2.0.

I skated the Latimer 2s and the Farmer 1s as well as a few of the early Conference models. After that I gave up because of the low quality parts that came with these skates.

Now we have “A cuff with cuff bolts means they will finally have some forward flex”. “An XS soul plate means they will actually fit my feet”.

These two improvements were enough to make me pay close attention. My expectations were high and I was not let down.

From genuine leather to even more options to change the way these fit, feel and skate I think Xsjado has really changed a skate that was already unique and great to something that has something for everyone and a quality that can compete with the original Salomon made Xsjados. [...]

Xsjado XL: Making-of
Larger Pictures in this Photo Set.

• Photo 1: This is a hand sculpted replica of the actual skate. It’s a clay model that is made on a 8″ x 8″ tile.

  I make it large so that I can get as much detail as possible into the bigger clay model before shrinking it down into the small jewelry size. Then, I’ll laser scan this clay model, and that will input it into my computer.

• Photo 2: This is the scanned 3d image of the clay model on my computer. With this image I can shrink it down to the smaller size which will be used for the jewelry. Then I can clone the skate, and arrange them how I like.

  Once the skates are arranged and ready to go, I will cut the final design on our CNC machine into wax.

• Photo 3: This wax piece is then used to cast a silver master piece and I can use that to create a mold to produce all the final pieces. The final pieces are then cast in pewter and plated/painted.
