I’m sure you are all excited to have a new blading game. What do you think this game could be?

An Iphone app seems to be the easiest and lucrative way to produce an independent game those days. I would love to see a PC/Mac moddable game, with the ability to customize skaters with their own skin.

Update: Jon Julio posted a screenshot of the level building process. The work is done under Autodesk Maya.

I’m sure a lot of skaters played Jet Set Radio (Gamespot Review). This game was released for Sega Dreamcast in 2000, got a sequel called ‘Jet Set Radio Future’ released for Xbox in 2002 and a wierd port to Gameboy Advance.

In 2006, a game studio proposed a Wii version of Jet Set Radio, Sega refused it.

A topic asking Sega to make a new one made the frontpage of Reddit this week.

I’m not sure that Sega will release a new version of the game, but it’s not impossible that you will soon be able to play the Dreamcast version on your PC & Xbox: Sega released Dreamcast Collection featuring Crazy Taxi, Sega Bass Fishing, Sonic Adventure DX & Space Channel 5 (link on Steam) ; Jet Set Radio might be next.
