Mid April 2009: the french tv recorded in Paris a pilot for Urban Spe, a serie featuring the story of a rider’s crew.

A lot of know skaters were involved in the episode: FABRICE GUYONT / MO’ SYLLA / ANTOINE BORSIK / DENIS GUL / AURORE COSTABILE / STEPHANE ZUBER & SAMIR BENDJEDDOU.

The serie is written by Yves LAMUSSET (ex OOTINI shop).

Voici quelques infos sur le tournage du pilote de la serie Urban Spe.

Nous avons tourne le pilote (episode 0) de la serie du 14 au 20 avril 2009 entre bastille / bercy / tolbiac et grande bibliotheque.

La serie parle donc d’un groupe d’amis (un crew) entre 17 et 25 ans, 6 garcons et 2 filles qui sont tous et toutes reunis autour d’un point commun, ce sont des riders.

La serie aura un ton nouveau pour une production francais, elle sera plus proche dans la forme d’une serie comme “skins” (serie anglaise au tons cru et cash) avec des perso plus ages, que d’autres series actuellement en tele.

Les problematiques seront plus vrai (avoir un job, un appart, les galeres d’argent, les relations hommes / femmes, choisir entre la vie revee de rider et la vrai vie pour payer tes factures…etc).

VALO ET ROCES ont d’ores et deja supporte le tournage du pilote en fournissant du materiels. (les seuls…)

Taig Khris & Amel Bent a french popstar (official web / videos on youtube) were on tv last saturday in France.

The broadcast was dedicated to ELA, a french association who work on rare genetic diseases.The idea was to raise funds : a lot of stars were there to succeed challenges.

So here is the idea : Amel Bent who never rolled in her entire life, had to learn rollerblading in one day with Taig Khris, and on her show, she has to drop a miniramp and dance on a song with skates on!

GMT Production (France) will finance a new french tv serie based on the rollerblading scene.

They are now casting people who will fit the characters of the serie (myspace for more infos, in french). You need to have a certain level and if you’re chosen, you’ll get actor lessons.

La serie URBANSPE, est un veritable bouleversement dans le paysage audiovisuel francais, annoncant la venue d’une nouvelle generation de concept de serie tele.

URBANSPE c’est La rencontre d’un auteur / realisateur et d’un jeune auteur / rider, qui on mis en commun leurs competences respectives pour creer cette serie originale et passionnante.

URBANSPE est l’histoire d’un groupe de rider confrontes aux problemes de leurs generations et leurs vies dans un milieu purement urbain.

Entre epreuves initiatiques et trahisons, entre apprentissage de la vie et respect des aines.

Airborne is a 1993 comedy/drama film starring Shane McDermott, Seth Green, Brittney Powell, Chris Conrad, and Jack Black.

Plot

Mitchell Goosen (McDermott) is a teenager from California who loves to surf and rollerblade but his parents who happen to be zoologists were given a grant to work in Australia and they have to leave Mitchell with his cousin Wiley, his aunt and his uncle in Cincinnati, Ohio.

This is far from the beach which means he can’t surf or do what he usually does. When Mitchell arrives in Ohio he meets his cousin Wiley (Green) who is a terrible driver and kind of a dork but tries to act cool. Mitchell then goes to school with his cousin and they get on the bad side of the hockey players who happen to be the popular guys that travel in packs.

These people include Jack, Augie (Black), Rosenblat and the Banducci’s . Mitchell and Wiley end up being tortured by the hockey players for weeks. Mitchell then falls in love with Nikki (Powell) who is Jack’s sister and he doesn’t want her to see him.

After Mitchell schools the preps in street hockey and embarrasses Blane, the leader of the preps they challenge Jack, Snake, Augie & the rest of the hockey team to a rollerskating race down Devil’s Backbone and they ask Mitchell to join their team because they were impressed by him at the street hockey game and they need him in order to win and gain back the respect they deserve.

Trivia

* Jack Black was reported to do 100 push-ups before every scene, this extended filming for two months.

* The stunt rollerbladers used in the film are credited as the Team Rollerblade, however it has been revealed that many of these rollerbladers were in fact members of the notorious Santa Monica based Blade Blasters street gang.

* Seth Green refused to be called by his real name during the entire production – to get into the part, he insisted on being dealt with as Wiley at all times, on and off the set.

Strasbourg / France (Hometown of Mathias Silhan) got a new Skatepark thanks to the Nouvelle Ligne Association. The opening of the Skatepark took place 2 weeks ago, and the Tv was there !
