A group of friends found this cool skatepark in an old Roman Catholic church, called the Jozefkerk. In 2009 the local Skatepark in Arnhem, the Netherlands, burned down so the local skaters started looking for a new location which had to be at least 1000m2. After some research, they finally found this church which has been empty for the last 5 years.
Blessed by the parish of St. Eusibeus they started building this unique skatepark. Now 4 years later the skatepark is well-known in the scene because of social media so some European riders/friends had the idea to visit the church with a smoke machine, cameras, cranes and extra lights. Check out their private session all under the eyes of god himself.

You recently announced that the Winterclash will be your last competition ever. Do you want to tell us a little bit more? Why now, why the Winterclash and what’s the whole feeling behind it?
I guess the main reason is my age, and that I don’t care so much about competing anymore and haven’t really for the last 5 or 6 years. I’ve competed in enough competitions. I picked Winterclash because it’s the Winterclash, and it’s in Holland. Sounds cool in combination.
That you’re going to stop competing doesn’t mean that you will slow down in blading, right? What else are you doing on blades right now?
At the moment I’m still blading and hopefully I can continue until I’m 70. Besides that I run my own show company, which also organizes contests and runs workshops. It’s not 100% confirmed yet but the plan is that I’ll get my own office in the new World Skate Center, so hopefully I’ll do more and more stuff with this as well.
If someone is interested in booking a lesson, how can they reach you and can everyone be part of it?
During two cold nights in November the Cityhopper crew got together to film this project.
‘Blackout’ took place in an old building, in which the new Den Bosch skatepark was being built.
They used the unfinished skate obstacles in the park and incorporated the Mind the Gap setup and Cityhopper ramp to add possibilities.
Other attributes used to create this video were glow in the dark paint, LED-lights, a smoke-machine, a motorcycle, industrial lighting and a bungee cord.
Team Rollerblade made a visit to one of the oldest cities in Poland.
We stopped by the Polish Rollerblade headquarters which was hosting a local contest outside of Poznan. This city had some of the best street spots, including a huge quarter-pipe at Malta lake.

CityHopper+ is a documentary starring Dutch Rollerblader Sven Boekhorst, his brother Lars Boekhorst and Tim Haars, both known for their roles in the Dutch films New Kids Turbo and New Kids Nitro.
Sven brings his ramp to several high profile spots in Holland to test his new Rollerblade SB Pro skate, and to entertain the masses! He destroyed highly recognizable touristic locations in the Netherlands, such as the Red Light District, the Dam Square and the Leidsesquare in Amsterdam, as well as many other famous landmarks in the Netherlands.
All while trying not to get kicked out and arrested. Trying not to break his neck. Trying not to get caught by hookers and pimps chasing after him. You can imagine the shoots were ‘lively’. To use an understatement.
