
Richard Taylor : Memorial Comp

As most rollers will know unity recently ceased publishing, I wrote an article for them on the Richard Taylor memorial jam which took place on the 9th Sept 2006.
Most skaters have heard of Richard Taylor and for those who don’t here’s the lowdown :
Rich Taylor was one of the most charismatic, energetic and talented people in the industry. He was very popular amongst all, an amazing skater and an inspiration for positivity. At the young age of 23, Rich sadly passed away in August 2004. Since then memorial comps have been held for him in order to raise money for a skate park in his memory.
Alongside the comps money is raised via red memorial RT bands sporting his favorite quote ‘’its all good’’. Skaters are united at events such as NASS as you can easily spot a fellow roller sporting one, united in Rich’s memory.

Gaynor Taylor still going strong alongside son Rob and the aid of Anthony Canning arranged the third comp in his memory ‘’The Da Richie Code.’’ Continuing the themed comps he used to run at the park.
