River Ave Skate Plaza: Bronx, NY Edit by David Toro

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

A fun edit at River Ave skate plaza. The day started out with a massive heat wave and ended up with a few familiar faces showing up and enjoying the rest of the evening with the Red Bull girls.

This should’ve been released a while ago but I’ve been meaning to go back and collect more footage of the locals. For the meantime, I hope you enjoy this short piece showcasing the talent that holds the BX and the rest of NY down. More to come soon!

Skaters Featured: Jordan Baez, Jose Henriquez, Will Torres, Ian Merrit, Carlos Montenegro and Ramelle Knight.

One Day NY

Evan Grimball is a boss. Anyone who thinks otherwise can E.A.D. Not only did this guy go out and film himself, he fucking killed shit in the process.

This is all old footage of Evan, relatively from this past year. Some of the other hustler, filmers involved are Malik Ashby, Cesar Macay, Jordan Baez, and other folk. It’s exciting to know that people are taking things into their own hands and generating great material.

The following edit is a compilation of old and new clips with the family. Whether catching a clip for a quick laugh or just fooling around and discovering something new–rolling is undoubtedly something I really enjoy doing and documenting.

Thanks to everyone who comes out to session without any expectations but to have fun. More edits coming soon. A few solo projects in the works with specific people. Boom!

2011 Last Man Standing nyc

2011 Last Man Standing comp put together by Victor Callender and Wheels In Motion went down without any problems.

Despite the lack of support from a lot of people in recent days prior to the comp, New York City still made it a great event. Thanks to all of the skaters who showed up to support and all the major crews who made appearances.

Our scene only keeps on growing and the prominent figures continue building–feels great to have everyone come together to make something out of nothing.

Final Standings

  1. Franco Cammayo
  2. Chauncey Jenkins
  3. Jose Henriquez

Chosen Few, NYC Street Comp: One Day NY

quoting One Day NY:

I was fortunate to attend and capture a bunch of fun times at the ACF comp that went down this past week. It was definitely a better turn out than most expected.

Despite being kicked out from two spots (one being the second round stadium down rails in Staten), we were still able to have fun and make it work.

This edit covers a third of the first round, all the way to the last round which was all captured on Staten Island.

As you may have already seen in other edits covering this competition, most of the first round went down in Manhattan at Battery Park before getting kicked out. Unlucky for me because I had gotten there literally three tricks before getting the boot from the parks department. None the less, we still got some good moments on camera. […]

One Day NY: The Beats + Alex Ryerson Edit

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

As of lately, I’ve been on a overall mission to get rid of all my footage before the summer starts. The following clips are a mixture of very recent material or footage that has been shot within the past three years.

We started ODNY really small with just a handful of local skaters in Queens, NY and have had the pleasure of expanding the crew and friends beyond the scope of our own city.

While we continue to grow in very tiny increments, this edit is for everyone who has supported us from day one.

If we’ve filmed with you before and have yet to see any of your footage in our edits, don’t worry you shall see your stuff soon. We have much bigger plans in stored for the summer like a new more user friendly site and possibly our first very own video production. Stay tuned.

Cool’n out in NY: Alex Ryerson

Alex Ryerson from Brooklyn, NY keeps the clips rolling w/ more previews. The following was filmed over a two day weekend featuring spots in both Brooklyn and Queens.
