DIY – Track & Dolly

Track & Dolly

For a professional track and dolly kit your looking to spend in the high hundreds of pounds.

So why not build your own?

This setup used:

8 Rollerblade wheels (With bearings)
2 X 8ft pvc pipe. (Each pipe cut into 2ft and 6ft peices)
6 x 1ft plank of MDF
8 1/4″ bolts at 3 1/2″ long.
8 1/4″ washers
16 1/4″ fender washers
16 1/4 nuts.

Check the video in HD Streaming.

You dont have to copy this design. It’s important you experiment and customise your track/dolly so that it works well with how you work.

The reasons for this track and dolly set up are:

Quick and cheap to make. Its very mobile and easy to transport from location to location.

The track is ideal to use on staggered ground levels like curbs or stairs. This is difficult or more traditional designs. Can place the track on walls, roofs, curbs etc at a range of different heights.

Music – Clint Mansell – Stay with me – Fountain soundtrack album.

Valo Skates, How to Cut the toes (Tutorial)

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

How to go about cutting the toes of your Valo skates to make more room to A. fit a smaller size, B. fit the correct size. C. Fit an aftermarket liner.

Edit by Ivan Narez featuring Ivan Narez and Victor Arias.

For the last few months toe cuts have been the latest craze. It seems that it’s every rollerbladers dream to fit into a size 3 skate, and while that vivid wet dream of having the skates off of barbie’s feet may be distant to some, others are getting closer to it by snapping the toes off of their skates.

For lack of a better example (but probably the best example) we will be using the Valo AB.1 available here. This procedure can be done on all Valo models and come similarly done on ALL nimh skates.

valo toe cut

You can do this on any skate that has an over boot. Models that I can think of off the top of my head include some USD Grycon skates, Some of the older Cults, heck you might even be able to do it on some RB’s even though I don’t think there is a whole lot to deal with up there anyways.

Check the AM post: Tutorial with pictures & details
Thanks Ivan Narez.

Lil’ Tony’s Streetgrip Tutorial:

The StreetGrip: Every time you see a camera guy in skate videos, you see that they have really nice cameras (XL or GL whatevers). Well, I don’t, and don’t have the money to get one.

One of the biggest practical differences between their cams and my JVC generic is the handle on top. That would make filming all kinds of things SO much easier.
