July, 16th A Chosen Few came to Salt Lake City, Utah at We Are One Skatepark to hold the most epic contest to hit our scene in a minute.

Lots of skating and lots of hammers went into the making of this edit. We hope you enjoy. Thanks to all the We Are One staff and family for making this a successful event. Shout out to Chris Napoleon for being such a great competitor, this contest is for YOU!

I made this edit a long time ago. This footage is anywhere from 1 to 5 years old but how old or new the footage is, is unimportant.

This is just 3 friends skating. We all look at skating differently but everyday we all go out trying to progress. Sitting here 4 days post shoulder surgery I still say this is the best way to skate for me but I certainly wouldn’t say this is safest way to rollerblade.

For our past, present and foreseeable future we’re not trying to make rollerblading look like a safe sport because it isn’t. We’re just skating the way each of us love to skate and that may change as time goes on.

But the most important thing in the end of the day is we’re all having fun. So as always make sure you have fun too!

We had around 80 people at this First Sunday session. Some OG bladers came out for the session like Rachard Johnson and Gonzo as well as a lot of the current killers from Socal like Russell Day, Anthony Gallegos, Chris Calkins, Tim Franken, Daniel Rosado, Jeremy Soderburg, Steve Cortez and more.

We also had people roll up from Santa Barbara and San Diego. A lot of youngsters attended as well. It was an awesome session. I only filmed for a little while so we did not get everyone and sadly Rachard Johnson clips were lost which sucks. We’re sorry about that man. Still, we were able to put together a great little edit.

First Sunday July 3rd takes place Noon till whenever at Paramount Skate Park.

Any chance I get to personally run through all the spots a few days ahead of time and see if there is anything we can do to make it better I take.

Luckily I had local skater Sacha Lopez with me to fill me in on the bust factor info as well as handle some sick skating with friends Dave Mutschall and Flo Stepper. Usually I think skaters take it easy before a big competition but today’s skating was far from safe.

I was fortunate to attend and capture a bunch of fun times at the ACF comp that went down this past week. It was definitely a better turn out than most expected.

Despite being kicked out from two spots (one being the second round stadium down rails in Staten), we were still able to have fun and make it work.

This edit covers a third of the first round, all the way to the last round which was all captured on Staten Island.

As you may have already seen in other edits covering this competition, most of the first round went down in Manhattan at Battery Park before getting kicked out. Unlucky for me because I had gotten there literally three tricks before getting the boot from the parks department. None the less, we still got some good moments on camera. [...]
