The rolling media have evolved a lot in the past years.
There are many skate videographers that have pushed the sport and its representation lately, and that’s why we wanted to shed some light on this new generation of talented video makers, with this new guest edits series on Frenchyfries.
First in line is young Craig Smith with a beautiful edit out of Australia, but I’ll let him introduce himself and his work. Check him out !
Razor Australia Podcast #2. Featuring Danny Jensen, Tom coley-Sowry, Josh Nielsen, Rhys Bell. Filmed by Craig Smith and Dom West. Edited by Craig Smith.
“The Australian Rolling Open, initially conceptualized to fill the void left by the Aussie Titles, has proven itself to be greater than any of those involved in its planning could have hoped for.
From the gromms who came from all over Australia to the Pros who came from all over the world, fun was had by all in attendance.
The level of skating slowly grew throughout the day until we had an insane six man jam Pro final that has electrified the Australian scene. Much of this is thanks to the WRS and the vision and commitment to in-line skating that its members have.
The main goal of the ARO was to generate excitement in the Australian scene after an absence of regularly run competitions. The success of the day leaves no doubt in our minds of the events future, with plans already being developed to ensure these strong foundations are built on.
We know there are great skaters all over Australia and getting them all together in one place is hard to do, apart from the sick skating that goes down, the ARO is a great excuse for a catch-up.
Thanks to all that made it out. Hopefully we’ve given you enough reasons to come back next year.”
