Anthony Gallegos: A Chosen Few Profile + Bonus
Friday, November 18th, 2011Repost. First posted on Wednesday, October 27th, 2010.

Anthony Gallegos has been skating for this profile since before we had even planned on making it a Chosen Few Profile.
Chosen Few filming has been going on for a little over a year but Anthony has been filming this for nearly 2 years. I can not even begin to describe how unbelievable and dedicated this guy is. He can skate anything. Literally anything. He will not only skate obstacles no one would ever think of skating, he will session them. He won’t just do a soul on it either he will get tech on it.
Among being a outrageously good skater he is also one of the most positive and humble people you will ever meet.
I have never been more honored and proud to release anything more then this profile. Anthony your the man! now sit back and prepare to be fucking amazed!

Anthony Gallegos: Chosen Few, Day in the life (2009)

Saturday, May 14th, 2011quoting Jonathan Labez:
I’ve been filming Anthony Gallegos for a while now and there’s a huge stack of clips to prove it. I thought I would thin out the folder and put out an promo / throwaway edit with these clips.
They’re all 2nd angle, there’s a better trick, or otherwise unusable for anything else. And I still have enough for another edit or two and not even reach the bottom! Hopefully this is a taste of things to come.

Anthony Gallegos: Last of the Left Overs, Chosen Few Edit
Anthony Gallegos just finished his Profile Sunday September 12. Anthony has filmed for his Profile for about 16 months.
Anthony Gallegos can skate anything and is on a unique level apart from anyone else.
The best thing about Anthony is that you won’t find a more humble and cool person who is down to skate with anyone anytime. His Full Length Feature Profile will be out before the end of the month.
Anthony Gallegos: Interview by Jonathan Labez
I met Anthony at my first Monday night skate in Long Beach, a week before Christmas 2008. My first impressions of him were that he was a nice, approachable, all-smiles guy with ridiculous tricks.
A year and a half later he’s still that same person, with an ever-growing trick vocabulary and an uncanny ability to skate virtually any obstacle put in front of him. His style has been described as smooth, ninja, fearless, unexpected, gangster, creative, progressive and crazy.
He amazes me every session, and what’s more surprising is how humble he is. He encourages everyone around him to skate their best and above all else, have fun. It shows in his skating, and anyone who skates with him can clearly see how much he revels in strapping into his boots.
Here’s some insight into my friend, Anthony Gallegos.
- Jonathan LabezFirst, the basics. Tell the readers about yourself, on and off skates.
My name is Anthony Gallegos, I’m 23 years old, from Bellflower, CA and I’ve been skating for about 13 years. I love skating, wine, music, good food, books, anime, video games, movies, etc.
Much of my time is spent in the greater LA and Long beach area, either skating or working. Most people I meet find my ethnicity a mystery being that I look white and my last name is Gallegos, but I am Guatemalan and Salvadorian.
My long-standing nickname which most people know me as is “Wiener, and I will probably have to take that nickname to the grave. I have an obsession with one day skating and living in Korea, and I love to travel when I get the chance, but it’s not often because I rarely have a destination or funds. [...]

Anthony Gallegos / Kevin Yee tour photos:
A couple months ago Xsjado Ambassador Anthony Gallegos, along with a few of his friends (Gregory Preston who was featured in an edit on rolling news a little while ago, and myself included) went up to San Francisco to skate with Xsjado AM Kevin Yee for a weekend.
The whole thing was documented— Plenty of photos and story to go with. It ended up going live a day ago on my blog. The author is Wory Shin, the photos are by Jonathan Labez.

Shock: Anthony Gallegos Interview
Wednesday, August 19th, 2009
What would you say to someone who said you were wasting your life rollerblading? Does it bother you that there isn’t a lot of money in rollerblading?
First off I’d say, “F**k you!” The best times I’ve ever had on life were on skates and if it weren’t for rollerblading I wouldn’t have met my best friends and been to all the places I’ve been to.
The reason people say that we’re wasting our lives rolling is because they don’t know how to enjoy their own lives. They think that we don’t go to school or work jobs, well most of us do, the ones who don’t are the cream of the crop and rollerblading IS their job. Well as for money in rollerblading, I believe we’re on our way up.
We experienced a major drought and everyone saw the popularity and the industry shift from the States to Europe back a few years ago. But now our influence is strong everywhere and with the improvement on sales from rollerblading companies combined with our growing numbers we will become a force and the money will come.
Pros and company owners need enough money to stay here for us.
