Quoting Emmanuel Lecouturier:
My rollerblader was recently picked and displayed on rollernews website, and remind me I have never posted the finished character.
So there he is. The charater is under 8500 tris 2048 map for color, normal and specular, ready to go in a next gen game :) Rendered in XSI with simple point light.
Here is the highpoly of my rollerblader sculpted in Zbrush.
I used a profesionnal skater whose name is Chris Haffey as a reference.
Hi. I am starting a new character. It will be a rollerblader.
I begun rollerblading a long time ago, and even I don’t practice much lately, I still love this sport.
Very popular in the second half of 90s and early 2000s, the sport is now much more underground.
However, people who love this sport keep pushing it, despite the lack of exposure in massive media.
I want to make a little tribute to them.
So first things first , I made the skate. It’s a Remz 2007 team model.
3d animation I did a while back (like 4 or 5 years ago hehe!) of a skater doing a few tricks.
Animation is quite poor now but thought I’d youtube it anyhow. all done in Maya and comp’d together in Adobe Afx. Did want to do a more advanced version of this but didn’t get any spare time.
A few years ago I did a skating animation that was quite popular. It got a few nice comments on here and it seemed to go down well with alot of skaters.
Anyhow I decided it would be fun to return to a similar project seeing as I’ve been working as a character animator for the last couple of years, and see how I tackle a similar piece this time around. I think my animation skills are a fair bit better than the first one I did but anyhow I’ll let viewers decide :)
The piece is twice as long as the last one and i tried to do some shots where the character would go from one trick into another or make it look like it was filmed by a friend in places so there are no fancy camera motions.
The project was animated & rendered in maya and edited in Adobe Afx.
Audio track is Medicine Man by Playgroup.
Thanks Tsc (forums ; Nissan Skyline VS Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth animations availiable).
Singularity modelled some old ground control frames in 3d. The render is pretty good, check the pictures here.
3d video by skibaris from Lithuania. Thanks Rieduciai.
Here are some really nice 3d renders of a robot, skating some hybrid Xsjado skates. Link
Artworks by Vdovin Valeriy from Russia.
Some renderings of Starscream hopefully-soon-to-be-buildt-skatepark in Switzerland. Link
Check a nice 3d animation of a Rollerblading Character (rolling & grinding !) created by Stephane Henrard (popnstretch.eu), a 24 years old belgian 3d modeller.
Project description :
This is my end-of study work. It’s a full 3D short movie. With this I try to make a mix between a lot of graphics universes. All are synchronized on music realized by Mathieu Lozinguez.
Thanks to Baptiste Vanpoulle !
