Stimorol Shift: Tv Ad, Featuring Oli Benet

The Gum that changes taste from rasberry to mint.
Agency: JWT Köpenhamn ; Prod Co: Friendly Film. Creative Director: David Asmussen ; Director: Fredrik Callingaard.
Syndicates asignment was to give the early spring Barcelona footage a rasberry flavor that later turned into an icecool mint taste. So apart form regular online effects such as CG set extentions the main part of the work was to cover the streets with CG ice.

cool ad but it’s too bad they didn’t at least show him grinding down the rail for a second or two more. you couldn’t really tell what he was doing. instead, it just looks like oli is skating around on blades. at least he looks cool!
June 8th, 2010 at 6:30 pm
so this is that selling out thing that brink was always talkin about….. just playin, its cool…. and all good.
June 8th, 2010 at 6:30 pm
Sick ad, I think any more skating would’ve made it lame to all non-skaters. CGI is dope!
June 8th, 2010 at 6:42 pm
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cheesy I LOVE IT!!! hahaha
June 8th, 2010 at 6:44 pm
for us its good to see some skateing on the tv … but the ad itself ist fuckin crap …
June 8th, 2010 at 7:09 pm
he was going for a topsoul but wait oh no he was just hucking the rail
June 8th, 2010 at 7:10 pm
who knows what the song/
June 8th, 2010 at 7:18 pm
gawd that was horrible the way he winked at those girls in the car
June 8th, 2010 at 7:20 pm
positive exposure is great. great stuff
June 8th, 2010 at 7:27 pm
where is the fuckin grind?
June 8th, 2010 at 7:30 pm
that won’t save rollerblading btw…
ahah
June 8th, 2010 at 7:32 pm
That was fucking sick haha!!
I mean,, the editors don’t know anything about skating, but whatever it was just a sick commercial..!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 8th, 2010 at 8:37 pm
probably one of the gayest things ive ever seen…
June 8th, 2010 at 9:09 pm
Haha, this is the 30 second cut, and there is a 45 second version and a directors cut with more grinding and skating, and no, I did most certainately not huck the rail, i did it about 30 times, if not more, the whole thing, to jump over camera, while faking throwing and catching a packet in the air, im sure it will be seen on the full version.
I think its absolutely brilliant that a company wants to work with inline skating this way, and i think exposure for rolling is nothing but necessary for skaters to be able to really expect to live off it, theres so many people with so much talent in rolling out there that deserve to be paid (obviously im not talking about myself) themore exposure and companies interested in this, the better.
This is a personal opinion, of a closing in on 29 year old that has dedicated his life to skating. Its fun, and we do it because we love it, but thats no reason not to want it to be commercially viable for the companies and skaters. People are still going to do it because they love it, and not to be rich.
Anyway, bigup stimorol.
June 8th, 2010 at 9:10 pm
the editing was really well done,
and its nice to see skating getting some exposure
June 8th, 2010 at 9:21 pm
Also, it makes more sense too if you watch the making of:

June 8th, 2010 at 9:49 pm
AMAZING. Oli is a great person to use for this. great filming/editing
June 8th, 2010 at 10:18 pm
completely agree with oli. The term “selling out” is a poor people mentality. people need to get off of that, and quick. Rollerblading is a lifestyle supported by a BUSINESS model… and in order for it to grow, it must continue to expand and be seen as a viable asset for other companies.
Big ups to stimorol
Big ups to Oli
this is very sick
June 8th, 2010 at 10:23 pm
Oli Benet is a damn good looking dude, I’d let him wink at me.
June 8th, 2010 at 10:30 pm
you got played. top soul ….cut hahahaha
this must be good for ice skating
June 8th, 2010 at 10:31 pm
blah blah blah full version let me guess this is the one on tv ? haha
June 8th, 2010 at 10:55 pm
nice nice :)Your comment was a bit too short. Please go back and try again.
June 8th, 2010 at 11:01 pm
Ah ah, so much different to what I would expect from the making off, the girl where so scared and surprised after he jumped over the car, and now in the edit they are so confident. Anyway I like chicle, will try them.
June 8th, 2010 at 11:02 pm
Its gotta get worse before it can get better ispose, just glad they don’t have this in my country… slightly embarrassing
June 8th, 2010 at 11:26 pm
Oli…this was fucking INCREDIBLE!!! big ups!!! we need of this things….
PLUS- TOTALLY AGREE WITH OLI!!!!
June 8th, 2010 at 11:42 pm
bringin back jumping over convertibles with girls in them cheering
hellz yeah biznatchess!!
June 9th, 2010 at 12:03 am
love the dare to air jump over the car at the end! chris edwards eat your heart out.
I can see why they kept the tricks simple, with 30 takes or so you have to be shooting a trick you can land EVERY time. you can’t waste the crew time, it’s costing like 100k+ for all the crew to be there. some great post work on that spot, the transition would be a pretty intense effect. I think the great thing about this is that this ad would have cost serious money to complete, it’s a real investment in the sport.
congrats oli – it’s not even a lame ad.
June 9th, 2010 at 12:05 am
Guys, this is not a skate video. Its a gum commercial.
30″ spots are very short to tell a story, and here they succeeded in telling there story.
I don’t think its a sick ad, I mean it wont win gold at the Cannes Festival, I’m sure it won’t influence negatively skating in any way. But it better sell some god dam gum!!!
Carlos once told me he started skating after seeing a cigaret AD where a guy jumped over a car full of chicks. If this AD makes one kid start skating, because he tought a car jump was cool, i’ll be happy enough.
Peace
Cuia

Nice Oli, good on ya!
June 9th, 2010 at 1:04 am
Oli on Xsjados, Mary Elizabeth Winstead on Valos… it’s all good.
June 9th, 2010 at 1:16 am
looks terrible and way too cliched. his facial expressions were lame as fuck. fuck you all too.
June 9th, 2010 at 2:36 am
lol they turned into Xsjado iceskates…sick!!!
June 9th, 2010 at 3:29 am
His wheels have “stimorol” on them. I’m totally gonna cop a pair of xsjado Ice skates
June 9th, 2010 at 4:43 am
so sick yo, i really wish they would show it in the states as well.
oli is mad dope
June 9th, 2010 at 6:16 am
personally i don’t think Rollerblading needs lame gum commercials like this, but if they’re gonna make ‘em might as well use someone notable like Oli Benet, they could’ve just as easily used some nobody.
i can see how cats look at more exposure as being progression, but we definitely gotta be careful not to repeat our past mistakes. there’s been so much resurgence in the industry lately and it’s possible Rollin’ might make a comeback, but i like how things are going right now, as it is.
do we really got it that bad? way i see it, it’s never been better for us. the level of skating is sick, style is up, we got nothing but quality products coming out, many skater owned companies to choose from, and now even a WRS ranking for the Pros.
sure if our Pros could actually live off their Rollin’ paychecks that’d be grand, but most of us never make it that level. Pros might be our spokesmen, but it’s us normal cats sessioning that local spot that are really reppin’ it to the outside world. every time we strap them boots on we’re ambassadors for what we do, bring ya A-Game kiddies!
but this ain’t really hate mail, props Oli, if anyone deserves a Swiss gum commercial paycheck, who better than…
June 9th, 2010 at 7:27 am
^ “if anyone deserves a Swiss gum commercial paycheck, who better than…”
…himself instead of one of “his” riders? good one oli bennet
June 9th, 2010 at 7:30 am
WOOOOOOOORRRRDDDDDDD to big ups OLI Benet, the two ways, for Oli, and for this guy that wrote this, couldn’t have said it better.

dood was the end a tribute to HOAX? It reminded me of when Chris Edwards jumped over the car. Was it HOAX? Dang has it been that long? I’m old :(
June 9th, 2010 at 8:34 am
first one to say:
Stimorol will save Rolerblading :-D
And Kids, come on: Its a very good commercial. what do you expect from 30 seconds and and a mainstream-audience targeted clip.
Good work!
June 9th, 2010 at 8:42 am
Sweetass commercial, too bad that they didn’t show more grinding though
June 9th, 2010 at 10:42 am
really sick oli, you’re the man
June 9th, 2010 at 11:07 am
Nice one, i was looking forward to this!
The bit where he jumped the car though, and then the girls like waved and danced…
It’s the EXACT same as a clip from the Intro of KFC3 ( i think taken from a really old Rollerblade advert?) made me laugh!
Good work all round though =)
June 9th, 2010 at 3:49 pm
was the jumping over the convertible a homage to older rollerblade footage I wonder. haha I liked it though was cool not lame like a lot of this sorta stuff turns out.
June 9th, 2010 at 4:00 pm

why don’t stupid kids understand; THE WORLD OUTSIDE DOESN’T UNDERSTAND A MILLION SPIN TRUESPIN ALLEY-OOP WHATEVER, it’s fine, a soul on a ledge/rail is more than adequate in a chewing gum advert. It’s not going to do any damage to your precious fucking image
June 10th, 2010 at 1:04 pm
Fair play to Oli, but this is exactly why people think rollerblading is gay. Sorry, but it does no justice to our sport and hate to say it but I won’t be buying the gum. Sorry for moody comment, just saying my opinion. Jumping over a car and then winking to the bird in the car, come on.
June 16th, 2010 at 6:36 am
i still havent seen the ad on swedish tv.. has anyone else seen it?, when is the official release of the ad on TV ?? Oli?
June 16th, 2010 at 7:14 pm

June 19th, 2010 at 2:52 am
wtf, dude u haters man i swear do get off it man. for one this is over all a great ad and edit. big ups to oli and ur right cuz rollerblading needs to be exposed to the world. i do wish they would have showen in ever version some grinds cuz alot of ppl dont know about are sport and what we can do.thats the only lame thing but im sure just like u see different versions of ads on tv ur going to see all three where ever this airs. good shit homie!!!!
