That was the best edit I’ve seen yet, even though the song was wack. Music is so key. At least 70% of the time determines if people are going to come back and watch it again or even carry on watching the rest of the edit in the first place.
Mulvaneys edit was a good idea making it a documentry type of thing but the song was wack, the people in the edit did some cringy shit.
Know the difference between funny and cringy and know that if you put out bullshit like that kids arent going to want to come travel to your event… Watch the edits again and think “should that have been in there?”
“if people saw this from an outside perspective would they really think it was a cool sport?” I’ll answer that for you…..no.
Simply look at how the best of the best (within our sport) edit and tell me if any of your edits slightly compare.
Ivan Narez, Dom West etc
Keep it simple. Even look to other sports like skateboarding and bmxing and look how they document events, even if you copy there style of editing down to a T as long as it looks good people will come back to watch it.
This isn’t just to slate you, this is to improve yourself, improve your edits, and improve the way you shine your sport onto outsiders eyes. Seriously take a look, not just mulvaney but all videographers in the UK. Do your research. Step it up.
