Hello again,

I was foolishly anticipated about the plagiarism thing of course, I do look forward to watch the entire tour, as it is also something I´d love to be able to do myself. I only mentioned it because the skateparks were the same as on the other video. Which I very highly recommend by the way, it used to be online but I don´t seem to find it anymore myself either.
Well see where they take us!

Victor actually can skate bowls very well for the doubters out there. He's filming most of the bowl skating instead of getting clips of himself.

@ Dawn

I would agree that some criticism is warranted in any industry, including rollerblading. Its unfortunate though when it is coming from people that don't have much investment in the industry and frankly do most of their critiquing from behind their computers.

Rollerblading at its size now can never support all the people that deserve it. Thats including girls too. In years past the industry did support more people financially and I sincerely wish that it still did because more people would still be rollerblading. But our reality is that it doesn't.

So as we continue to grow its films like "Shread Till Your Dead" that we should encourage. It showcases rollerblading beautifully and has a interesting narrative. If you simply don't like the idea behind the film, how it was filmed, or what people are skating you are free to buy a camera and make the film you want to see. That would be a great learning experience and fall under "constructive criticism".

We are all free to criticize but we should do it in a manner that helps us grow as a community and ultimately as a sport.

good word mike!, but as an industry we do need to learn how to deal with critics. some people lack tact when offering their criticism (comes across as hate), but if you look through the tone to their point, it can actually help refine rollerblading. if anything, all the criticism/hate just shows how dissatisfied people are right now, and i think that should be taken seriously. we need to find a way to support ALL rollerbladers, not just the pros, the guys, or a certain age group --support EVERYONE with wheels on their feet, and then maybe they'll support you! and if you can't take a little criticism/hate, could it be that you are just a little too sensitive? but i do agree, the hate seems to be getting more and more out of hand, and everyone should take responsibility for their own words (use you real name, it helps =).

and remember, TRUST IS EARNED, NEVER TAKEN!!

As someone who has rollerbladed since the early VG days I must say it is entirely disheartening to see the hate displayed on such posts. For those that would preach their hate so effortlessly I'd encourage you to do some research about our sport. If you do I'd think you'd find plenty reasons to be proud of our past and equally inspired to clamp down on pointless hate.

Furthermore its films like this that should be celebrated and held up within our community. To those that would suggest that we are copying skateboarding I'd ask you where do you think our sport came from? Surfing begat skateboarding and in many regards skateboarding begat rollerblading. Many of our trick names are taken from skateboarding and many if not all spots are shared by both sports. I do strongly believe though that our sport has shown an amazing amount of progression in its short life and lives outside of the realm of skateboarding. That being said we can grow on our own as we certainly have, but run a serious risk of stunting growth with such immaturity/hate.

In my short rollerblading life I have been fortunate enough to live on the west coast for a time and skate many of the parks featured in this film. This film not only captures the skating beautifully but equally captures the beauty of the northwest. I currently live in Pennsylvania and think often about the west not only for the skating but for its unmatched natural beauty. I also enjoy the staggered online release. Each release creates anticipation for the next. And really what is the point of any cinema release? A film should create anticipation from scene to scene.

And in closing I'd like to remind you that one day you will all have to get a full time job and leave your rollerblades in the house for much longer than you'd like. I'm 27 now and cherish each moment I get to rollerblade. If you continue to hate I can assure you that the jobs in which you are paid to simply rollerblade will become fewer and fewer.

Respect anyone who rollerblades period.

i dont like HD too, both in photos or videos, look like "enhanced" reality. Thats subjective ok, but its like music played by real instruments and synthetic music, its about texture&"soul".
i just think its sad if it becomes a standard/norm.
in general, synthesis is too much precise for art where perfection is imperfection

ps: you love some random unknown guys, i'm sorry for you.

@damn

shooting in HD is not a wrong direction.

the reason why HD is becoming popular with skate videographers is because thats the direction everyone in the amateur film/entertainment/media industry is going in. the first HD vids to come out were black market/barely dead/ the one. filmed by Doug U and Connor. they are both in the industry for film productions/media/commercials. and because of that, they set the bar high. everyone needed an HD camera after that.

HD is more appealing to watch to a broad audience. saying that vx/gl footage is better is only a subjective opinion. you might have heard it from a couple other people, but that doesnt mean we are going in a wrong direction. HD is the future whether you like it or not. its crisper, cleaner, and more professional looking. it will only make us as rollerbladers look better. get used to it.
