The first video I had ever seen was VG6 back in 1997. Dustin and Kevin were instantly my favorite bladers. Glad to see him and DL back on USD. Kevin’s new clips are awesome. Looking forward to seeing more.

It will be cool if USD could re-eddit the first model of Throne Kevin Gillan. This skate was the best i’ve ever skate.

  9. Michael Says:

I remember watching VG6 with my friends in Sweden back in the days, rollerblading was our life. Thank you for so much!

  10. joeman95 Says:

dude… this made my YEAR!!! :)

  11. Olderschool Says:

I’m really enjoying the fact that old school pros and ams are blading again, I don’t care If all they could do was a sole grind on a curb Id still love it because these guys remind me of the best times of my life which were 1997-99 when blading was just so amazing… skating with friends, pushing each other to progress, seeing and doing new tricks etc just enjoying it! all the og’s know what I’m talking bout :P. I stopped skating in late 99 cause most of my good sk8 friends quit and moved on to hard drugs and I got bored of skating on my own, so I gave up in the end. I’ve just started skating again 6 weeks ago and I find that good vibe about the sport and people who do it just isn’t there anymore more, because blading has become SO antisocial because everyone is just rolling round like zombies listing to music! I hate it so much! Taking the socializing part out of aggressive skating is what’s missing from it these days and is probably one of “if not” the reasons why this sport hit low points! people enjoy socializing with other people and it’s always been a big part about skating and if you take that fact away from this sport all you’ve got left is nothing pushing you to wanna learn or try something or get better or enjoy it as much, to be honest I think most people just wear ear phones because they saw some pro skater wearing some and a trend started, and now everyone does it cause it’s apart of the sport.., it’s the same as tucking your trousers/pants into your skates, most people don’t do it cause they don’t wanna to get holes or scuffs from buckle scrapes.. they do it cause its now around of the sport, and if your new to the sport you’ll do the same cause everyone else is.. but yeh, communication is what’s missing these days. So yeh.. ditch your ear plugs and KEEP IT OG PEEPS Its good to talk hehe.

  12. darin Says:

Legendary, that was really nice to see him still skating. I love that he supports Arlo and Gost because they were both on USD back in the day. This is really cool that Rollerblading is keeping the past alive as we move toward the future. He mentioned Rachard and Fienberg, that would make me so happy to see Fienberg skate again because he was my favorite skater when I was growing up.

  13. Michael Says:

Darin: Feinberg and Latimer were my favourites… and Baustimler, but he quit much earlier. I don’t see how Rachard can have the same status as those guys though to be honest – he was never near as good as Minton, for example.

  14. Dawn Says:

OGs still skating! That’s what’s up!
    Nice clips Kevin.

  15. Anonymous Says:

holy shit the audio on that interview was bad…still a good watch though

  16. .. Says:

yeah the audio sucks a lot, i can’t hear what he says
    put some subtitles

  17. Corey McCumber Says:

Try turning your speakers ON. Maybe have the volume turned up a bit too.

  18. www.myspace.com/djwrekshopmusic Says:

KG has always been one of my favorites, good to see him still rolling!
haha I feel a lot of these OG’s commenting on this. Oldschool^ i definitely understand and agree with what you are saying. To everyone else, sure 97-99 were great times but the times are still great. You don’t have to roll 10 deep anymore to have fun. Shit I usually just skate by myself now. You also don’t have to try and feel like impressing other people everytime you skate. I gave up on that a long time ago. Rolling can still be just as fun as it was back in the day, the sport hasn’t changed that much we just have to accept the fact that we are a little older now and our priorities have changed a little ; )

  19. anton yehuda Says:

Ok first thinsgs first mr Gilan it is a plessure to see you on rollernews & to know that mr Fineberg is planing a comeback (i love Aaron) !!!
Second: that thing about people hating on hip hop does anoy me for a wile
now so pleas quit that shit (rollerblading is hip hop) What What .
Third: the tight pance problem, well i remember Arlo & the top pro’s back in 1995 were skating with loose pance wile the ams were skating havy baggies (not tucked in skates), i personaly got in to loose pance by influance of one of my best friends ever Leonid Basin (Israeli champion since 1996 to 1999) in 1997 but i whent back to baggies in 1998 actualy got ripped of stile points becous of that by L.B. who was judging the comp..
i acked Leon why didnt i advanced to finel & he sed that its stuped to skate like that (bagies tucked in skates) wich i thoght & still think is the most stileish!? Well the point is that each person chooses his stile by firtly close and music that he listens to (that is the way when you go to scool) & im cool with piople whanting to skate with tight pance i do get why; becous you see the body in full (just like oldscool hip hopers in 1980′s)!
Last but not least the ipod thing! Personaly i love skating with it but i alwase brake it so i dont skate whith it but this is not a rollerblading problem there is no such thing !!! & all you who do think that roling is down it is becous you dont progress anymore which is verry hard to do after so many injuries* and hate from the woodpushers.
Anyway i anjoyed this one a lot so thank you rollernews guys for beeng the best(for real).
