Scribe Urethane: Team 09 & Blake Obrien Wheels
Scribe is back from the grindplate days! Making wheels now instead of plastic pieces. Cool old school comeback in to the new school.
Scribe was re-established by Dan Fabiano and Shane Birtzer with help from previous owners Shannon Grendahl & Steve Thomas.
We have released the business as a urethane based company and have been working on these for the past 24 months. The company will be producing apparel along side the urethane as well as an outlook into liners.
wheels are 24.99 a set with a dollar going to Blake if you buy his wheels.

This takes me back to VG4 when I was rocking scribes on my majestic 12′s and singing “im gunna stay young until I die” from the minnesota section. Great days. I agree Pom Scribe do some frames, like the Xsjado’s but made from scribe nylon. And also give Ernie Villarino a pro frame!!

I love the idea of new companies for our sport. But with that being said, how many f*cking wheel companies do we need? it seems like everyone is trying to start either a clothing, or a wheel company nowadays. Most wheels are about the same quality, so the only difference is the graphics, or the cost. Shit…. I’ve been skating Senate wheels for about 7 years now, and I’m going to keep doing the same, until I can’t find Senate wheels anymore. The wheel market is getting over saturated. We can always use a new boot company, but that is alot to ask for.( Not to mention that every new boot company over the last few years has been some other company’s old mold with different souls, or skins). What we really need more than anything, is more FRAME COMPANIES!!! Right now, all we have is Ground Control, Kizer, 50-50, Able, or XJSADO Mook. Some boot companies make their own frames, but those always suck, and nodody buys them. 50-50 doesn’t come up with anything new lately. ( ANd anything they do use sucks. Those little nubs on the sides take away some soul space if your skating ledges). Nobody skates Able anymore, espescially since the newer frames started snapping. Only freestylers use the Mook (and they get worn down SUPER fast). So that leaves GC and Kizer. Both make great frames, and have a selection to choose from. But we need another GREAT frame company. I hope everyone atleast tries the Create Original ( OG) brand that is coming out. They look promising. And even if the first series they lauch aren’t great, we should still buy a pair, because the only way for them to come out with more frame ideas, is if they make the money to do so. So everyone save some $$$ , that way WE can help ourselves by growing a new frame company that will benefit us all. Skate hard, live hard. PEACE

sweet azz, yea!!! CDS grind plates.. for sure they should come back with not that but frames.. for sure that would wicked!, likin the scribe wheels and true.. i actually counted how many wheel co.s there are and from what i recall we have 10! if not more…
sure it can be hard to come up with new designs but it takes a reasonable amount anyway for anything…
i know since im in the process of doing some ;)
March 11th, 2009 at 7:22 am
i knew right from that design on the wheel. haha. thats nuts. i hope the wheels dont suck. for the guy complaining about how many wheel companies there are, shut up. you want support well this is support.
March 11th, 2009 at 8:45 am
hells to the yes. I rocked their plates like whoa.
March 11th, 2009 at 8:45 am
And i’m stoked they are still using their old logo.
March 11th, 2009 at 10:10 am
i typed out a better response but java script fucked up, so i’ll make this one shorter…
FUCK senate and FUCK 976!
nice image but owned by a whack skateboarding company called bravo sports.
scribe industries/urethane on the other hand is AWESOME and i’m happy to see their comeback.
March 12th, 2009 at 12:30 am
obviously blake obrien should ride pro for scribe.
but i really prop your other two choices – bagozzi and mcloud.
they have been killing it for so long and both seem underapreciated
by the industry.

To rollerblading is gay….. Why don’t you shut the fuck up, bitch. Rollerblading isn’t gay, you are. I wasn’t simply comlaining about another wheel company. I was saying that the wheel market is oversaturated, and folks could do more good by starting a boot, liner, or frame company. When you have too many companies selling the same product, then they all suffer, because of the competition. It makes more bussiness sense to start a company that sells products with less competition. Not to mention, it would be better for us, to have more variation in other products. I love options to choose from just liker everyone else, but how does it make sense to start a 10th wheel company, when we only have 3 liner companys? I’m talking about starting a company that better serves the sport, and the company. You are just like every other little kid on here that runs their mouth, eventhough they have no idea what they are critcizing. People shouldn’t be aloud to reply to comments that they can’t comprehend. If I said, ” Alex Broskow wasn’t skating very well yesturday, I think he hurt his ankle”, you would probly run your mouth about how I am an idiot, because I am “hating” on ALex. You would probly say, ” fuck you dude, Alex Broskow is the man you faggot”! Eventhough I never even said anything bad about him. Stupid fucks like you pick out one part of a person’s statement, ant then start writting dumb shit. Why don’t you TAKE THE TIME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT A PERSON IS SAYING BEFORE YOU OPEN YOU COCKSUCKER. And the worst part is that 70% of the people who use this website are just like you. No wonder everyone hates rollers. Thanks alot bitch.
June 8th, 2009 at 2:31 am
agreed danielson, agreed. i do think that we need more frame/liner company way more than another wheel company. specially since eulogys the best wheels there is!!!!
June 8th, 2009 at 2:32 am
*are the best wheels
July 28th, 2009 at 11:47 pm
if you remember the scribe grind plates you are def old school I guess this thread was 30 year old rollerbladers and 12 to 17 year old rollerbladers.but I definitely agree rollerblading was more fun back in the day. its funny how it’s packaged now I guess scribe did a really good job of holding on to that.
November 20th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
you guys are gay
the word rollerblading is gay
all you fags are gay also
others like myself just roll and have fun
thats what the sport is about
