Rob. That last trick you asked about is called a rough sweatstance. Kind of like a rough makio/Mizou/Kindgrind/Fish and even like a rough soul. When you grind on the soul’s heel only it then becomes rough. I think the same goes for just grinding on the toe part of the soul. As for Rollerbladingisgay, I don’t remember the last time your sport had a commercial either based on them or with pro’s in it. You have Jackass and other shows to show the world how truly stupid and a glutton for pain you truly are since you can’t do your easy ass tricks correctly. I still am waiting for the time when a am can grind a half of a rail without trying it a thousand times. or see a trick besides 50-50 on the mini ramps (what a fuckin cheater ass trick. ) Get a life and a job Rollerbladingisgay and realize how gay it is to love wood you fuckin Dick Muncher.

so what about farv? people actually call it ao royale? I thought it was full torque now. torque being one foot.

and whatever happened to wheel barrows? they were fun, but for some reason became uncool.

and what about xgrinds are they called something else, and does it matter if your front foot us topside, or your backfoot, or are there two ridiculous names for that?

and what’s the grind called that’s sweatstance but your topside foot is only grinding on the back wheel part of the frame?

wow…this is one place our sport has always suffered. too many variations is good and bad for explaining and understanding our sport.

I think someone should have richie eisler or someone do a sweet 16 of every trick, all labeled in an edit. it would be hours long.

Here’s the thing lads:

Let’s take the “neighbourhood”.

I’ve heard it called a “biscuit” and a “byn soul” and a “demon”.

Names change from location to location. So since when is there a “correct” name? Same with the “California” (sit-down) grinds. Loads of people just call a (for example) California Top Acid a Top Acid.

As for the Unity/Savannah thing. I don’t know what is “correct” and, truth be told, I don’t really care, so long as somebody understands what I mean. Sure porns used to be called acid mizous I think? And nobody complains there?

I (personally) am not into the idea of calling what I’ve always called a Savannah an “AO Unity”. Surely “AO” is a term for SOUL-based tricks and not for H-block or “ROYALE”-based tricks.

I don’t like the idea of what I call a savannah being an “AO Unity for another reason-BECAUSE i LIKE THE NAME FARV AND NEVER WISH TO CALL A FARV AN AO ROYALE.

Yet another reason is that any AO tricks that are spun into (or indeed spun into with truespin) get the spins counted as so: 180, 360, 540.

The idea of someone saying “I did a 360 unity” just confuses me. That could mean they entered it 270 OR 450 as they are both close to 360 and they’ve merely neglected to mention whether they entered it fakie or landed it backside.

I also here people say “true” unity and “true” savannah a lot. It’s not true because it’s a H-block trick, it’s BACKSIDE until you spin 270 degrees or more. To do a true backside savannah would require a 450 spin (unless you took off from fakie of course, then it would be 270 or, God forbid, 630).

Next people will be saying “I did a true royale”. “Um, you mean a back royale?” “Yeah a back royale, whoops”.

All that is just the way I see it. I might be wrong. If I am, I don’t care. I can sleep comfortably tonight knowing that Chris Edwards, Jon Julio, Arlo Eisenburg and Dustin Latimer aren’t going to be waiting under my bed tos tab me to death because I mis-named a trick.

Get over it.

first of all the poster actually show a savannah. ever since daily bread was out they could never truly get the names down right. I’ve been skating for fifteen years and I remember when they said that brian bell was doing a farside mizou when he was doing a sweatstance I remember when they use to call top souls dark side soul or far side soul in his little video he shows guy doing 270 back sav. and that’s just a little different but the trick is still the same.

no a savannah is a 270 backside alleyoop unity (or a forwards inspin 270 reverse/alleyoop unity)

thats what a savannah is,

the confusion is mostly in the alleyoop,

is it clearer if its said/written, 270 backside reverse unity = savannah?

and to clarify inspin is where you start your spin off with the first 90 degrees of rotation lookin/facing the obstacle, outspin is where the intial 90 degrees of rotation is facing away from the obstacle…

p.s inspin and outspin is how we should describe spinning fakie into tricks… Saying Cab, gives props to skateboarding as its trick named after it’s invent whore steve caballero (a fakie/switch stance on a skateboard and spinning either a 180/half cab or 360/full cab), and we dont ride sideways or a switch stance haha, we have forwards and backwards, aand crab hahaha
