wtf man, whats happeneing then? they stil gona sell salo and xsjado? and what is happening to the roller industry? its going extinct.

^^ salomon ditched the US because all the gear over there is either really cheap or really expensive, and Slomon makes a mid-range product which just has no market over there. The fact is that a) you can still get Salo products over the web no matter where you are and b) salo moving out just makes more room for aggressive-dedicated (no rec product) companies like USD and Razors. It’s not gonna harm the industry.

This is true i think, chaz will end up with a boot, frames the lot - at least i hope - he deserves to be the next shima for razors…
December 16th, 2005 at 2:36 pm
this is true, lets hope razor doesnt drop, because you know they make so mcuh $$$$$ w. those scooters :D. usd, deshi, valo are pretty much the only skate companies that wont drop (fully commited skating companies,

omg, wtf. rb started this, now i really hate them, i didnt b4 but now i do. salo is obsessed w. there snowboarding crew, i hope every snowboarder sonsered by them gets raped 2night up the ass. luckily rollerblading has fully commited companies like deshi , usd, valo. razor seems really commited, i doubt theyll leave, now that would b a big uproar w. aragorn, murda gone. so is farmer gonna b off the team>?
and guys, even though this probally is true, its only a rumor

Put yourself in their shoes
You are the managing business director / major shareholder of the company, with no intrest in it apart from it being a job where you earn money/increase your share value.
You can either
a) Produce an already successful range of inline skates and pay international professionals a wage to ’support the industry’ (They clearly have no idea about rollerblading, IMO, they think its for kids and therefore do not understand that if they drop the team they will be boycotted)
b) Keep producing the ever successful boot model and drop the team, saving money and therefore gaining more profit. this would also allow them to invest in more profitable sectors of the organisation, such as snowboarding and skiing
The problem with rollerblading that none of you seem to realise is that it is a very specialised market - producing aggressive skates is much like producing electric powered balsa aeroplane replicas.
Compare it to say, producing running shoes and there are completely different factors tu success and failure. The companies such as USD and Razors produce aggressive skates simply because their love for the industry, they could just aswell produce skateboards, or bicycles, and make 100x as much profit.
You have to take into account that running a rollerblading business is not very economically viable, it takes commitment and a lot of hard work for only a very small (sometimes none) profit.

RBs are the worst skates ever, I’d be glad if I was a good skater and was able to get off RBs. Salo’s are okay though, that sucks, but they have alot of good skaters. I don’t htink they’ll just be forgoten

I don’t give a shit about sands, to be perfectly honest, but salomon boots and liners are the most comfortable skates around and it’ll suck having to buy them from some european company and get them shipped over here. Salomon distributes xsjado though, are xsjado going to stay in the US?
