congats well deserved

Now people should be glad that there’s talent everywhere these days but I can guarantee they’ll be plenty of mad Americans who can’t adjust to the fact they aren’t as dominant as they used to be.
Not that this ranking really matters when it gets down to it, my favourite skater on that list is still Erik Bailey and no points are gonig to change that for me.
January 17th, 2013 at 1:46 pm
so dumb. competitions don’t matter, what about video sections, broskow, bolino and farmer aren’t even on there plus many more
January 17th, 2013 at 2:03 pm
So fucking raw!!! Nice, nice
January 17th, 2013 at 2:23 pm
Roman is an amazing skater no doubt, however, CJ is the best competition skater in the world.
January 17th, 2013 at 2:41 pm
roman is the man!!
but can i suggest changing the end music in these clips? =/
January 17th, 2013 at 2:54 pm
540 everything but souls on rails are hard haha
January 17th, 2013 at 3:00 pm
best in the world right there. Winterclash should be pretty epic this year. And I hope Roman, CJ and Nils can make it out to Bitter Cold to make skating more exciting for the kids.
January 17th, 2013 at 3:03 pm
Don’t know how this dude got world champion. Looks like he’s trying to skate just like aragon instead of having his own repertoire. I guess everybody tries to skate like their favorite skater growing up so maybe one day he’ll have his own way of blading. Dude is definately good tho.

Way to go son. You make Jean Claude very proud!

Dear Rollernews, WRS results are NOT updated since WRS Uploaded, where Nils got 2nd place (5 star contest)!!!
you can check my article (written 17th of december) and use google translate from Latvian to English:
taktika.lv/jaunumi/nilam-jansonam-wrs-dubultuzvara/
Correct final results should be:
1. Nils Jansons (18400 points)
2. Roman Abrate (16000 points)
3. Brian Aragon (15600 points)
P.S. And YES, it’s bull*hit that it’s already 17th of January 2013 and overall ranking is not updated..
January 17th, 2013 at 4:55 pm
video sections = guys getting to do the same trick over and over and over till they get it right.
competitions = guys getting it right first time under intense pressure.
comp skaters are so superior to the guys who just make video.
January 17th, 2013 at 4:57 pm
yes but can he tap little rails like Broski and the Kelsos? we all know that going small and doing little tricks is what steeze is all about, right? this guy has got to learn to do smaller tricks before he gets the respect he deserves from the rollerblading community.
January 17th, 2013 at 4:59 pm
wow only 3 Americans in Top 10. France #1 again. This provides proof Europe has surpassed America in rollerblading talent.
January 17th, 2013 at 5:14 pm
^I don’t necessarily agree with that assessment. I agree that it is a much bigger deal when someone laces something on the first try in a comp, but many hammers in comps come after several slams as well.
Videos are not only about landing the trick but finding the spot, finding something original to do on it, and then pulling it off with good filming. It is really hard to compare the two, but I do agree with you that contest skaters should not be frowned upon the way that they are.
January 17th, 2013 at 6:17 pm
i wish more American skaters would stop hating on french bladers, because clearly they rip, roman has been killing it for years, and i feel that Americans just get all muricaaaaa, roman should get a skate soon.
also, i’m American

OK, YOU’RE WRONG !!!!
THE ACTUAL RANKING IS CORRECT !!!
ONLY THE 4 BEST RESULTS OF THE YEAR COUNTS !!!
Before the 2012 uploaded comp : Roman 14000 and Nils 13400 (2011 uploaded counted in: 4000pts)
After the 2012 uploaded: Roman still 14000 and Nils 13900: 2011 uploaded results cancelled(4000) and 2012 uploaded results counted(4500)
so: 13400-4000+4500= 13900pts
THE RANKING IS UPDATED AND CORRECT AND ROMAN IS FISRT !
BOTTOM LINE…
January 17th, 2013 at 6:23 pm

January 17th, 2013 at 6:35 pm

True… Thank u !
ROB,… please next time take few minutes to read the WRS Rules before starting to say bullshit and make wrong count…
Roman is the well deserved WRS 2012 Champ… Fact !
The WRS ranking was uploaded less than a week after the uploaded comp… Fact !
You’re a jealous dumb Nils fanboy… Fact !
Period.
January 17th, 2013 at 7:01 pm
Wooow, RAH.. you are harsh, man!
My mistake- sorry for misinformation. Somehow missed about 4 highest scores that counts- really sorry for that.
Just to be clear, I am not fanboy of anyone. ;)
P.S. Again, sorry for misinformation!
January 17th, 2013 at 8:26 pm
^you are kind of right about WRS lagging though because they haven’t added in the points from the X-Mas Jam in Germany. But that’s only 2 stars so maybe it wouldn’t change anything? The results were:
1. Roman
2. Lomax
3. Dominik Wagner
so even if Roman wouldn’t move in the rankings, Lomax or Dominik might. So you’re actually right to keep an eye on the WRS because they do often lag or miss things, like bet you didn’t know Brett Urbas is from an unknown country ;)
January 17th, 2013 at 8:29 pm
Respect to Rob for admitting a mistake, apologizing (though not necessary) and not being a dick like all the other douche bags on Rollernews who sit behind a computer so they can act like the comic book guy on the Simpson’s and talk shit.
January 17th, 2013 at 9:35 pm
Roman has been skating a lot of contest this year and we do not have to forget this new insane tricks (rodeo or whatever to bakcside royal…) he deserve…Fact
Nils deserve his second place either…Fact
Gdenaire… Since judge might not judge based on style then he got it even if his skating is disgusting…Fact
Next year WRS should based their way to judge more on the style, it would make sense and skaters would work harder on this part pf their skating.
Well deserve Roamn and Nils and lets give us a new fight for 2013
January 17th, 2013 at 10:51 pm
Well deserved, best skaters in the world are abrate, nills, cudot, CJ, and Aragon.
January 18th, 2013 at 12:34 am
Hmm, some impressive tricks for sure, and I don’t mean to discredit Roman’s talent, but I feel his victory speaks more to WHO is voting rather than the contestants. David Sizemore’s section, for example, showcased a much more advanced, evolved style of skating, with perfect execution. Europeans are skating in greater numbers than North Americans and it’s reflected in these WRS results.
January 18th, 2013 at 1:32 am
switch soul huge ass down rails.. saw him at blading cup, completely deserved world champ
January 18th, 2013 at 3:22 am
^ Gotta agree with Blues Image.
January 18th, 2013 at 3:26 am
somehow if i see that top 10 list….
that does not represent much for me…
ofcourse there are big talented skaters, but the top notch is not in there…
at least not to how i view the best…
best right now should something like
bolino
broskow
montre
brian
nils
david
chris
erik
i dunno a big list and im sure im forgetting lots of names worth mentioning…
January 18th, 2013 at 4:14 am
that was probably the most boring episode of the raw clip series. don’t get me wrong, the tricks were legit. but its probably cause he didn’t say a word.. (not that i would’ve understood him anyway.. i’m american)… but maybe if he said something w/ captions?
January 18th, 2013 at 5:49 am
This was pretty good.
Althogh, I think some of the angles used in the Game Theory video didnt alow for us to actually see how big the spot actually was. Or the difficulty.
January 18th, 2013 at 11:59 am
pourquoi on l’entend pas parlé? ahahahaha
January 18th, 2013 at 11:17 pm
Faut avouer qu’il envoie quand même
January 19th, 2013 at 2:03 am
Hey guys, blade has all kind of styles like many other sports, so there are comp bladers, only st bladers, bowl and vertical bladers, bladers that ride any kind of terrain even dirt, bladers that kill on st and in comp too. I like to see all possibilities blade can offer made perfectly. Congrat to Abrate, Broskow, Stockwel, bolino, Haffey, Farmer, Chesire, Card, O’Brien, Wilson, Mason Richard, Cudot, Janson, Sizemore, Lomax, Jacuzzi, Demetrios, Zaytsev, Burston, Sands, Glowicki, Peitzner, Saa, Juul, Fabio Enes, Brandon Smith, Schawb… See, so many good bladers i can’t even remember more names pros and ams. Let’s celebrate diversity and freedom to blade the way YOU WANT. Thanks and hugs and hi5 for all you guys.
