Maximum strength comes after maximum stretch. Proper warm up 5 min stretch (especially growing) before will deffinately help prevent muscle strains. 15 min stretch after will help speed muscle recovery and keep your muscles and connective tissue from shortening. Any time you push a muscle to its limits you cause tears in the muscle which will then shorten the muscle if you dont stretch. Stay away from all gaps to flat. No matter how cool you think it is you will pay later. I have been skating almost 20 years and was riding steps fakie in 91 on a pair of rollerblade macroblades with 88mm wheels before I knew anything about grinding(which is my favorite aspect of Rolling). I decided a long time ago I was going to pretty much skate forever(unlike Jackolone;) Skate smart and make sure to put a pad on the body part only after you injure it...lol. we all do that.

"I can asure you, that stretching AFTER sports, have noe value/effect what so ever"

absolutely none? you are so full of shit and obviously have no clue

Liar "personal trainers" aside, stretching is never a bad thing before or after skating and enhances flexability, so just do it instead of bitching

I work as a personal trainer and I can asure you, that stretching AFTER sports, have noe value/effect what so ever. BUT, stretching before, as a warm up or a part of it, can have effect on your elastisity, mobility and therefore more control.
Agreed with Smashing Dumplings...

crap, always noisy interviews and rubbish web cam quality camera. Stretches!! I mean come on can't anyone give a more varied in-depth answer, what about going to the gym to build strength and stamina, warming up on smaller stuff before going big, making sure all your parts on your skates are screwed in and not loose etc etc there's plenty of things to go at but everyone interviewed has about as much personality and gumption as a fly!
