   if you don’t get decent results out of your time-remapping tool…please don’t use it.

    Okay, lets make this easy for everbody to understand.

    Time remapping (with twixtor, or other software like twixtor) only works on some shots, and has some DRASTIC limitations:

    - It wont work with motion blur. if for instance an arm moves and the shot has a natural motion blur on that movement, twixtor (even with vectors or foreground layers) will result in warping. You can get away with it on a clean background (like the sky) but only if you use it subtle and for a short time. you can try (if you film DSLR for instance) to get rid of the mb by cranking your shutter up, but you’ll end up in awefull looking shots on normal speed.

    - It generally won’t work on long shots (longer than 2-3 seconds) since you’ll end up in warping around all moving objects. Twixtor pro (and vectors) have some stuff you can do to push it a bit more, but even then you’re limited.

    - It will hardly never work on shots with a shallow DOF, out of focus shots

    - It will look awefull on low saturated shots, dark shots and grainy shots.

    So If you’re not well known with the software, don’t use it.

    You can get away with fps*2 with some decent frame blending. It won’t be as slow, but atleast there is no warping.

    yeah the contest really was bad this year … cant compare to last yeah!! level was so much higher and better edits!! this is a shame! and shame on you mr. editor for makin it look even worse than it was!
