Grinds
Grinds and grind variations are virtually limitless. Grinds may be given new names when they have been modified slightly, despite being a variation of a basic grind.
For example, a topside alley-oop mizou is called a Kind Grind. The following is a list of the fundamental grinds and common variants.
Frontside / Backside Tricks:
* Frontside - In this trick your feet are perpedicular to the object your are grinding (rail or ledge), you are facing the object, and you are sliding on your “H” block grooves on both feet.
* Backside - Same as frontside except your back is facing the object you are grinding.[...]

you, guys are total retard! thats why:
1.you cant match proper name of a trick on such an abstract sport like rolling is (or if you can make it - it will be abuse for the rolling at all)
2.this dumb who start that topic doesnt know that there are HUGE differences in the names in the areas…
3. Frontside and backside is possible only on slides (”thricks” on frames), when you include the plate its called GRIND not SOUL you dumb! SOUl is a GRIND like ACID is a GRIND…

I’m sorry Roll but yeah You’re a jerk. this guy got almost all the terminology right. If you want to know how to do something, You must first learn the basics and that sometimes starts off with learning what the fuck you’re doing. Too many times I’ll see someone do a trick and think that it’s new because they’re new to the sport and they want to rename the move but that would be disrespectful to the millions of others that do that same trick or even to the person who created that said move. trick-tionary is a vital role to our community especially when it comes to heritage. When you look down on the trick names and someone who cares enough to post picture/video links then you look down on yourself getting better.

It really does shock me everytime I see someone hating as much as r0ll was, someone has put a lot of time and effort into something and then someone is just throwing it back in their face.
I think a trick-tionary should be pretty essential, its a step closer to a more ‘organised’ culture around our sport (I mean, there are countless books on skateboarding!), and I think over time the real names of tricks will be forgotten and stuff.
Good to see someone doing something positive for the industry.

I didn’t say anything about skateboarders. WTF is with all that hate to board? I just said that will be more space on skateparks when kids will be in a front of their computers ;p, but for real, it’s good idea, and props for that dude who wrote it !

may i say farvehrnugen is by far the worst name for anything ive ever heard. did you include zero-spin or switch, or maybe the difference between rail and ledge or coping?? still its pretty good. i agree with andreas in that it could make the names more organised.
